  1. I've got a brand new 2013 large frame Merida Reacto 904 on the floor @ R16k. Full carbon frame and Shimano 105 groupset. Just I'm not in Gauteng tho.....
  2. I would go with the Lite. Although the fork on the XT Edition is great, there's nothing wrong with the Manitou. XT is a great groupset too, but having said that, SLX is also great. If you planning on racing then go with the Lite. The frame on the Lite is way better in my opinion (and clearly much lighter!). And by the way, I am a Merida dealer....
  3. Merida 29ers in XL are 23" so a good option for taller guys
  4. He rides like a machine! Pity he behaves like a tool at the finishline
  5. How much does that fork weigh? ie, what would it weigh with a "real" fork?
  6. I've got the new Big Nine Carbon Team. What an awesome bike! At your price range, the 3000 will be a really good bet.

    Merida Jersey

Any Merida Dealer should be able to supply you one. I'm a dealer and although I don't have them on the shelf I can supply. PM me with size and details if you would like me to quote and get you one. Cheers Wayne
  8. Thanks tombeej, don't think I'll have time to drive up the coast. I have a Garmin Edge 800 on my bike.
  9. Thanks Dsan. I thought the M4 was off-limits to cyclists, or is ok up to La Lucia? Is that M41 okay to ride on a early morning ride? Not too busy? Is there a safe way to ride up the north coast past Umhlanga or is that busier? Sorry about all the questions! Thanks.
  10. I'm going to be in Durban for 4 days (Sun - Wed) next week and need to keep my training going. Will be staying in Cowie rd. Can anyone help me with road training routes? Would like to put in approx 2-3 hr rides, going in early morning. Thanks in advance.
  11. I've been training and racing on Rocket Ron UST's for about 4 months without a problem. Really like the way they handle too. A few guys I know running tubeless on the Tubeless Ready Rons have had a few puncture issues.
  12. Hit and run doesn't make a good case for an innocent driver ........

    rocket ron

The Tubeless Ready Rocket Rons seem to do this, while the UST ones are fine. Anyone know the difference between "Tubeless Ready" and "UST"?
  14. Yes, my XT ones were resin. They are just in need of replacement.
  15. I'll know what they're like soon enough. Just got a set of resin ones to replace my XT pads.
  16. I tried fiiting a Conti Speedking non-ust tyre on a Mavic Crossmax SLR. Even with a compressor I battled to seat it on the rim, and then the side-walls had the tiniest perforations. To my dismay the Joe's sealant I used made no impression on these little holes, in spite of lying the wheel on it side, spinning it etc. Overnight the wheel was flat.
  17. I toiled to find a decent lube until I tried the Motorex aerosol lubes. I think its the best I've found.
  18. I had a Kenda Karma do exactly the same thing, but put it down to a side wall impact (visible marks). Maybe it was also a delamination from the joes sealant, or a combination of that and the impact.
  19. Thanks Brighter Lights and Johan. Presumably bike shops will carry the correct oil?
  20. I see on the Rock Shox website that there's only a manual for 2006 model.
