  1. @ HappyMartin. Which Tacx did you buy? I've got the I-magic VR Trainer, and don't find it noisy at all.
  2. Better check for "crack" in the frame!
  3. Must say I'm getting a bit bored of the Hub "anti lance campaign". Agreed, Contador is a great cyclist, but is also as innocent in doping as lance. At his peak, LA would have smoked Contador.
  4. Why does every post seem to turn dug related when Lance is mentioned - what ever happened to the 'innocent until proven guilty' assumption? Possibly he is just a damn good cyclist - and those other dopers can't understand why their juice is inferior to his natural ability!! I agree. Mention Lance or Trek on the hub and you'll take flack. It appears to be a Hub thing.
  5. I built a set once (about 15 years ago) when they weren't too freely available. If it was today, I wouldn't bother as they are cheaper than the effort required to build them! The machining of the hubs (if you don't have something ready-made) can push the cost way out.
  6. What's the most accurate way of calculating your max hr without killing yourself trying to find out?
  7. Has anyone had experience with: Bontrager's Jones XR Team Issue Tyres? I currently use Kenda karmas (2.1) but would like something similar but faster and lighter. These @ 2.0 are about 300g lighter than Karmas per tyre. Sounds good to me. What do you think?
  8. I think you are down to personal preference. You are looking at 2 good bikes. Both bikes are equal, but one is more equal than the other.
  9. 1.87m 91kg at the mo. 85 fighting weight.
  10. You say the nicest things! Biscuit.
  11. I was in the same spot a few weeks ago. I now ride a Merida 96 3500.
  12. SantaC: Yip, Std bike with Sid Race fork. Jughead Dave: Weighed it on my bathroom scale at 11.7kg - Don't know if thats about what it should be? Std bike as in the pic (XL Frame).
  13. Just been cleaned after its first venture into the dirt! But then again, its too pretty to be dirty!
  14. Good man! - still an amazing story!
  15. Funny, I picked that up from the pic as well!
  16. Took my new bike out for the first time today and was stoked! Merida 96 3500 Carbon Terminator2009-06-06 14:10:03
  17. Looks a lot like personal preference to me. Some guys buy a 'dale and put regular forks on while others put lefty's on non 'dale bikes. Thanks for an interesting read!
  18. No I haven't, but is it really like that, or is it a single swing-arm?
  19. Can you watch 2 different channels at the same time? (on 2 separate TV's of course)
  20. And how do you get around a rack that clamps on the fork?
  21. Thanks. Is there no issue or price penalty when looking at wheels? Terminator2009-05-26 08:58:28
  22. What are the advantages or disadvantages of the Lefty over a conventional fork. I'm looking at a Scalpel, but am not convinced about the Lefty. Not knowing them at all, the Lefty just looks weird, and I would imagine limits you on wheels to a degree.
  23. Buy the Camelbak cleaning kit. It comes with a little brush that goes through the tube.
