  1. imho, if you can afford the Assos, go for it. I bought some a while back, and was so impressed I bought a second pair. I also use the Assos cream, and the Assos washing liquid. You will always find cheaper, but at that level, I don't believe you'll beat the quality. Fit is always a personal thing though.
  2. Thanks guys. No negative feed-back is always a good sign. What are your opinions about a carbon bike on an idt? Does it place much more stress than the road? This would be my first carbon bike.
  3. I'm a fan but I do not have one of his frames yet. They do have a no nonsense guarantee. . Looks positive. Does anyone have one his frames yet?
  4. Doesn't appear to be too many Planet-X fans out there.....
  5. I'm looking at upgrading my roadbike (Trek 1400 105 9 speed spec) and was thinking of transferring the components across to a Planet-X road frame. I know that Kiwi is the man, but was wanting input from other guys who maybe ride this frame. The bike will be mainly used for training for Mtb riding, but will do the odd road race too. 1. I'm a big guy, 6'2" 87kg. Is this frame strong / stiff enough for me? 2. I do a lot of time on an IDT. Will this frame handle it? I don't have R30k for a new bike so I can use the Trek on an IDT! 3. I know very little about the Planet-X except that the price (and the frame in pictures) looks good. Looking forward to the input. Cheers.
  6. If the L-glutamine is doing the job, why change? Has it been replaced by the straight Glutamine? I use the L.

A Tee shirt, a Xmas decoration mtb, and the race detail booklet. Not too shabby as an unexpected extra. Go Glen!
  8. That's all very well if you have your car at the Sani overnight stops!
  9. Cool ChrisH, thats the sort of thing I'm looking for.
  10. Hey Dirtbreath, does sleeping in the nick charge your batteries?!!!
  11. Will look into it, if practical. Thanks.
  12. Has anyone got a bright idea for charging a Garmin Edge 305 at the overnight stop at the Sani? Didn't have a Garmin last year, so didn't have the problem. I presume it will need charging?
  13. Get hold of Doug at Redline Logistics. He transports from Jhb to Cptn for Argus, and Dbn for Amashova. Not sure if he will be doing anything for 94.7 (being a reverse direction trip), but he might be able to help. www.redlinelogistics.co.za

  15. I'm in. Team 2081.
  16. 1. Don't fall off the bridge. 2. Downloads are simple.
  17. I had 2 Hansoms in the 80's. First one was a CS (carbon steel!) with the first shimano index gearing, and the second was a Reynolds 653 with full Shimano 600 groupset. Both were magnificent machines in their day!
  18. I ride a GT Marathon 1.0, and reckon at the price, a Marathon 2.0 would be a great deal.
  19. Only other people get fit
  20. Thanks fiasm.
  21. Hi fiasm, please pm them to me too. I was watching this to see how I can curb the boredom. Thanks
