  1. Anyone looking at 910XT, there is a deal today: https://www.onedayonly.co.za/garmin-forerunner-910xt-tri-bundle-watch-sale-discount.html
  2. Sure, PM me your email address. As far as i know the bonus stuff can be a R150 Sportsmans warehouse voucher (sure i read that somewhere)
  3. Below your points goal it will say "Your team" with four circles and your teammates initials in the circle if they have joined or a "+" if there are still open spots in your team. One teammate so far, too many lazy frineds...
  4. Had a thought.... wouldn't it be cool if you could, by achieving a certain number of weekly goals, earn a Peak Performance test every six months or so? At R1000 - R1500 a pop i can't bring myself to do it annually, but would really like to. Definately healthier than a smoothie!
  5. Looks like fun. Rad photos!
  6. This hospitality sounds like it makes it worth it! are they only at the big events (94.7, CT cycle tour) or have people seen them at other smaller events too? Also wondering...... if you joined as a cyclist and you do the odd run and they have a tent at 2Oceans, would they be able to pick up which type of team vitality member you are?
  7. I sync my watch to polarpersonaltrainer.com and it pulls into the active rewards app just fine. Make sure Discovery Vitality is authorised under "Partners" on polarpersonaltrainer.com?
  8. Thanks for the info Shaper. Agree that if Discovery come out the same as another quote, there is only upside. dracs i kinda share your take on it, but it is worth considering.
  9. Could anyone who uses Discovery Insure for their car insurance comment on the cash back they actually receive? My understanding is that the level of cash back you receive is relative to how well you drive (as recorded by the tracking device installed). I tried out their iPhone app that records how you drive to get an idea of how I would do. I consider myself to be a decent driver and I am guilty of going over the speed limit from time to time, but it would appear that you have to drive like a granny to stay within their acceptable driving habits they prescribe. Therefore I don't think many people could be getting much cash back at all. Is my assessment correct?
  10. It's per month not quarter according to the website and my personal experience? My 2c, if you work the system (must have a discovery credit card) you can really benefit from Vitality. Between the cash back from Healthy Food, Healthy Gear, Retail partners and Discovery miles (particularly multiplier effect from your vitality status) you should be getting pretty close to R10k a year back and that's not counting in the gym membership discount. I see that as about half the cost of my monthly premiums for the year. Get to Gold status as soon as possible. It can be achieved in two months so do it at the start of the year and then you don't have to worry about it.
  11. I have also found it to be temperamental with the workouts coming through. Week before last they would appear in the app within minutes of syncing my Polar, last week it was taking a few days after syncing. Got there eventually, but it seems weird!
  12. Love those trails. Their annual race in November is a great. "Dead man walking" is appropriately named and if that climb doesn't kill you, the heat at that time of the year will. Surprised that it isn't more popular. I'll be back every year!
  13. Day permits can be purchased at the SANPARKS office in Burg Street in Town Really would make life easier for everyone if they sold them at the Kloof Nek/Cableway office and Rhodes Mem!
  14. 220 minus your age :'( This is a pretty good article on HR training: http://www.racerxvt.com/article/cardio-training
  15. Hi My Polar RCX5 watch went missing at the Piketboberg mountain bike challenge on 13th September. Think it must have fallen out the car in the parking lot when packing up. REWARD OFFERED for its safe return, no questions asked! Thanks Phil
  16. schalk it does look like we have the same bike. Camber comp carbon? such a great bike! perfect balance between an epic and a stumpy. I didn't even know about G-spot until Saturday which probably made it even more enjoyable for me Felt bad for the guy they were carting off in the ambulance when I went past tho. So close to the finish.
  17. Was a great race, well organised and great food (quite important when you need three helpings to refuel after all that climbing (GPS said 2515m?) on day 1!) Lost my sense of humour on day one though. All the climbing left me too broken to enjoy the singletrack. In fact too broken to enjoy anything at all. Guess I just need to train harder for next year. Day two made up for it though and I finished a lot happier. The run through G-spot towards the end really did hit the spot and put a smile on my face.
  18. Haven't entered yet but I plan to do it. Route sounds amazing so I am surprised by the lack of interest/entries.
  19. Anyone have or know where I might be able to get a replacement cap (name plate, part number Y-6LS98030 according to Shimano website) for the Shimano Sora ST3400? It's the small piece at the top of the lever. Thanks
