  1. I second this recommendation! Or this one https://www.hasiecustoms.com/product-page/prime-trail-shirt Quality is good, fit is relaxed.
  2. Probably one of the easiest features to enable on a phone but the manufacturer, but that will never happen. I feel like an impact could be made by the insurance companies. Whenever claiming for a vehicle accident, affected parties phone usage data/metrics should be part of the routine claim process to determine if the phone was being used during/moments before the incident. If it was.... no payout for your R1m SUV. Then watch how quickly people start using their hands free and stop texting! There really isn't any excuse, most cars these days have bluetooth hands free built in. Once we have that right we can get more people to select other luxury extras when buying a new car.... like indicators!😤
  3. Are you looking for lycra for the road or a trail shirt? These trail shirts are within your budget: https://www.hasiecustoms.com/product-page/prime-trail-shirt
  4. You'd think that another perk (provided SA was the first round of the season) would be that the riders could come early to escape the northern hemisphere winter to get some nice training in. Wonder if things like that are even considered by teams & organisers?
  5. Sorry to hear about this. Pringle used to be so safe, sadly not so much anymore. Out of interest, were they stolen during the day or at night?
  6. That is a real shame about Paul Cluver, I enjoyed those trails and nice to link them up with Oak Valley. Could also explain why it was hard to find up to date info.
  7. But please don't use 220 minus your age as your HRmax... get an accurate figure. Also make sure you have an accurate HR device. These wrist based HR monitors are pretty inaccurate from my experience with multiple devices. If you don't like a chest strap, the Polar OH1 or Verity sense is proving pretty good.
  8. Regardless of which way you go, it helps knowing accurately what your low and high intensity zones are. Many people train with their low intensity sessions being too high and high intensity sessions too low and end up going nowhere because of it.
  9. Training in the right HR zone! Do a lab test so you know your figures and then do the work... no shortcuts and you can't out-train a bad diet!
  10. I mentioned in the line for the TNMP activity permit that it is based on the 4 person deal. Its a no brainer to do it like that rather than pay R660.... even if you don't have friends the Bike Park at Uitsig will find 3 people for you. MTO is the single price, couldn't work out if that include Grabouw (maybe even Garden Route?) and Jonkers so maybe someone who has one can confirm?
  11. I tried to find all the annual MTB permit options close to Cape Town to weigh up which are worth getting, so thought I'd share. It may not be an exhaustive list so feel free to add any that I have missed.
  12. These ones get my vote. Keep the bikes properly out of the way (handlebars stick out above head height)... https://www.takealot.com/bike-rack-pedal-hanger-wall-mounted-lockable-levitate/PLID66723176
  13. Wednesday they said.
  14. having similar thoughts about doing it, but next month. Interested to hear opinions on the idea.
  15. Anyone worked out what channel supersport "OTT4" is? Can't seem to find it????‍♂️
  16. Yes! This really grinds my gears????
  17. *coincidentally ????‍♂️
  18. I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands an install it on the Higgovale forest trails in town Quite a bit of work has been done here lately and the kids (and old kids) have been making good use of the trails P.S. It is frequented by the Breakaway rides team regularly too (ironically you can actually see one of them in the top left of this photo)
  19. Enough LPR cameras around, surely be able to track this driver down?
  20. If you are looking for a XCO loop nearby, I have a 4km on the town side. I think its pretty cool. Let me know if you are interested. Going to try map it properly in the next week or so.
  21. Just out of interest, what day of the week and time of day was this? I ride alone around there all the time too????
  22. Or more entertaining????
  23. Agree, but if you have the luxury of being on the front row, I think it's a far less awful idea as it looks far less "compact" up front. Anyway, it's just something I've wondered watching the last few races.
  24. Noob question.... do the XC rules state that riders must start with one foot on the ground? I would have thought track-standing on the start line would prevent the not infrequent pedals slips we see off the line, like Nino had in Leogang which essentially ruined his entire race.
