  1. The first post on that thread was obviously so funny the OP crapped himself in hysterics before he could finish a coherent sentence. Truly we have been deprived by a crushing censorship regime.
  2. Check your frame and particularly BB area for cracks. Also crank arms. Grease your skewers where they make contact with the dropouts. Remove pedals and regrease. If you don't come right with the above then get someone to open up your crank and regrease the BB etc.
  3. SSISA is using a MAP Ramp test to determine watts / kg. I would guess this approach is a better control and more accurate accross the spectrum of riders as your output is less of a self-paced affair. http://www.cyclingtips.com.au/2010/01/how-to-do-a-map-ramp-test/ They are interested in TT performance too (closer to but not quite consistently 'balls to the wall') but generally look at 40km as the duration, not 20 minutes.
  4. Cadence has come up I see
  5. I was told by the guy next to him at the time that a recent Argus winner * cough cough * hit the wheel in front and caused the first lie down. Aside from issues with bike handling skills, there is a problem with the bunch size when you consider the intensity of the racing, the pressure for 'TV Time' that the pros / elites are under and the need to be on or off the front that this creates. Hard and fast racing is great, but a bunch of 350 is too big for this event. I won't race in a bunch that size again, even if it means I get demoted to a separate VA bunch, I'm totally fine with that.
  6. In Canada there are two ages of consent. 16 for most circumstances and 18 where the sexual activity "exploits" the young person -- when it involves prostitution, pornography or occurs in a relationship of authority, trust or dependency
  7. Legally she cannot give permission, which is the point of statutory rape legislation.
  8. Hey the hub is such a great place, makes me want to spend more time with my 14 year-old daughter to make sure she knows how to handle the ****tards waiting for her out there.
  9. Lordie not so much wind on the course but plenty on the hub and not much pedalling action on the day.
  10. I joined the sub-10 minutes club at the bottom of hospital bend. Hitchhiked back to the start with Heimer and Clive Seebrechts, borrowed a wheel and smashed it home to Kalk Bay. Got going again with G group behind me and was catching the back of D when I got to my house. 47.3 km/h average for the Blue Route on Strava.com - fastest time from $ beat me by 30 seconds.
  11. I can see a lot of paper peddling riding on this one.
  12. A 'surge' is more like 1250 - 1500 watts. Or whack bike plus 404's on the boot rack and tear down the N1 at 160 for close to an hour because you are late for the race. That's a 'surge' that will necessitate a rebuild in my experience.
  13. Technically taking a dump in the road isn't littering, although I'm sure it's an arrestable offense, especially if you're on TV with your sponsor's logos around your ankles.
  14. The $ / VA bunch was too big. No doubt. Two massive crashes. Malcolm is referring to UCI rules which limit the bunch size to 200. Argus is no longer UCI classified / part of the Giro, so they made the bunch bigger. Difference between the $ bunch and the funrider bunches is obvious and 350 riders is an accident waiting to happen. And we only had to wait 9 minutes for the first one.
  15. The Colonel - went over with the front bunch. Even Tarmac has an 8.22
  16. Anyone using Strava.com? New KOM time for Chappies from $ yesterday - full ascent including little Chappies - 7.42 - 35km/h average x_x
  17. Ye, I'm over racing the Argus. Maybe tandems for me next year, or I'll start at the back with my daughter.
  18. loving the new family size 1.25kg boxes. Eagerly awaiting the 10kg sacks.
  19. I usually have 5 - 10 boxes in stock in my kitchen. I can only eat the banana one and it's hardly every in stock, except at the damn pharmacy. Pick n' Pay you suck ass. Lose the pronutro and get with the green boxes.

    Argus Expo

I agree a better venue and better promotion would go a long way. We could make an SA bike show out of it. Right now it does look like a boot sale, and not one that I want to attend either. Rather post me my number or let me fetch it outside. Make a bike show out of it - something like interbike but obviously to the appropriate scale - and SA cycling - the industry and the sport itself - will get a lot more out of the opportunity that 40, 000 cyclists in one place presents.
  21. Sub 3 kit is so last year. I have ordered the Sub 2 strip with all over EPO smartie pattern, a big syringe on each glute and plastic sharks fin go faster fairing. All you sub 3 kit wearing poofters will eat my dust. I also have sub 2 shoes with a prominent DIGITAL clock on each toe cap.
  22. Probably that Christoff Schnauzer guy, everyone knows the swiss are a bunch of scofflaws. Those metal trees with the lights on top are there for a reason buddy!
  23. Apparently this year they have specially trained border collies herding cyclists through the building. They have been trained to pick up on the smell of bank notes and will not direct you to the exit until you are cash-free.
  24. Apparently if you register today you can pick up the limited edition Sub 3 cassette for only 50 bucks extra. http://www.instablogsimages.com/images/2009/05/05/recycled-bike-chain-ring-clock_FXqwo_22978.jpg There is a built in alarm that sounds 3 hours after you cross the start mats. It's a powerful variation on the traditional vibrating bell corpse-raiser. If you are on Chappies at the 3 hour mark grip the bars firmly and try to hold your line.
  25. Hell yes yes please! expo can derelict my balls
