  1. [i know that these bearings are probably not as good as the original DT Swiss one. ] Not necessarily true...
  2. I've done Trance and Anthem suspension bearings, replace and/or re-furbish (Strip, clean & regrease), special tools (internal bearing puller} help but not absolutely necessary.. Also done Shimano outboard BB.. same thing.. there is an expensive Enduro tool available for this Bearings are all off the shelf.. I have all the part numbers for anyone interested The Mavic hub bearings for SL's and SLR's are a bit more of a challenge, but again, same story Re: the Mavics, the big challenge is the freewheel hub bush. They want you to buy a new freewheel hub body for R628, for the sake of a plastic bush, which then more than likely won't work because of wear to the actual shaft, so there is too much play and you still get skipped gears. You can buy an oversize plastic bush on eBay, but order in good time because you'll wait, and then pay duties etc. If anyone is interested I am making some of these
  3. ... were dished out 29ers by their sponsors, so they won. But they would also win on a 24er... so all the sheep rushed out and bought 29ers!!
  4. I like this one, just because it's the first place I went to, to get a waterproof grease. Waterproof being the impoirtant aspect from my point of view... any Yamaha motorcycle or boat place will have it
  5. LOL
  6. Has anyone noticed that the only slightly technical, rocky bit of Northern Farms has been cordoned off with a permanent sentry on duty? This is into it's third week now. I look forward to this bit of the ride and find the reason for it questionable. There's a water bowser & some private cars parked next to the river. A huge boma has been constructed and the grass burned all around the area. Apparently, according to said sentry, this is for "Initiation ceremonies". What part of Northern Farm's normal activities does this fall under? Does anyone know what this is all about?
  7. But I still like the way they perform...
  8. Correct, mines missing three knobblies! Canvas bare to the world. Waiting for the first puncture..
  9. And ... X Kings seem to have had a dodgy batch out there to make life even more interesting than usual.. I have one
  10. This issue has been covered in depth on other threads, but nevertheless, here goes... It's quite strange to buy a tyre that leaks like a sieve, new! However, these tyres do have this strange quirk. When you fit them for the first time use Stan's and roll the tyre around, in all directions, then check for leaks.. To cut a long story short, then lay the tyre on it's side so that the Stan's can linger, overnight if necessary... over the leaky spot... (sorry.. spots) After some days, the leaks will all be gone! I only am prepared to do all of this because they happen to be stunning tyres, very grippy, especially the Mountain Kings... Have fun
