  1. as in... this..
  2. as in... oh no another pretty one!
  3. Ha Ha, they're quite cute when they're young but lose their looks bigtime when older
  4. Also Sabi Sands, so maybe related to your two!
  5. One other suggestion... before you start, adjust your calliper mounting so that it is off centre, so that the kink on the disc scrapes substantially on the pad. This makes it easier to track your progress. If you leave it central, you have to judge by eye whether you've moved it enough... or in the right direction. Sorry, forgot, for this to work, the pads have to be removed, and you use the calliper body to be your fixed reference point.
  6. Thanks.. I'm busy reading a biography of Steve Jobs.. very interesting
  7. Another SabiSands kitty
  8. I have a Lenovo laptop, older model Thinkpad R61, Core 2 duo, 14.1 screen, with the red mouse button in the center of keyboard, which I love, much better than a mouse pad. It has been bullet proof. It's the same basic machine that they use on the space station, although I guess those've got titanium cases and stuff. I like this so much I have seen no reason to upgrade. All I have done is max out the ram and I put in a larger HDD (500Gb) and re-loaded the whole system. I can easily edit pics using photoshop, but don't think it'll edit video (you need big horsepower for that) I would rate the reliabilty of Lenovo over most other brands, from what I hear and my own experience. I fancy a SSD, but costs are still a bit high relative to spinning drives, so depends on the budget I guess. I know I will be blasted, but I think Mac is all hype and no show!! Great marketing!! Jobs put on great launches and developed a cult following for products which are not always up to scratch, and there's no DIY tinkering with a Mac... but they do look v cool.. fashion items.. that's my view, but as I try (and often forget to say :-( ) do whatever rocks your boat!
  9. Near Dullstroom
  10. Which model CB's are these?
  11. I reckon exploding tires and mechanical woes gave us the best GP for some time... made me think of those computer games where the contestants shoot at each other in races!
  12. Sabi Sands leopard
  13. Canon or Nikon, 26 or 29, SRAM or Shimano, flat pedals or clipless, SPD or Eggbeaters, the arguments will go on into the early hours... do what works for you, or your situation, they're all good!
  14. Always try to get Neville to look after you there :-)
  15. Just call Hardware centre 011 791 0844 and they can point you in right direction
  16. Why bother when you can buy the Tork one for R699?
  17. I tried the Caddy way, but the problem is that your rear deraiilier cable gets pinched so you can't adjust your gears on the stand. These "pro" stands have a groove to keep that cable free so you can. Northcliff Cycles have the Tork one in stock but Mica price is better
  18. And in action...
  19. Make that Mica!
  20. Is this the one you saw at Midas? I bought one at a show at the Dome recently for R699.00... agents are Hardware Centre in Randburg 011 791 0844. It's not bad, definitely worth the price

  22. A handy tip for installing the new bearings, is to put them in the freezer for a couple of hours before you're ready. And put the wheel out in the sun. Then, if you're lucky, they'll just drop in... maybe with a light tap from a plastic hammer
  23. I've done front Mavic bearings. Was quite easy, but I had an internal bearing puller to get them off. With care a hammer and drive can work too
  24. I've done the same and am waiting for my Pro Freehub Conversion to arrive... nearly 2 weeks wait so far...
