  1. Thanks, it's incredible how useful this community is! Amazing!! Now smiling!!
  2. Hi My kid has long cranks on his bike (175) and I'm keen to shorten to 140-145. Any suggestions whom to contact? I previously posted on my carbon cranks needing shortening and can happily say that I've crossed over to shorter alu ones (RaceFace Atlas) and am super happy! Thanks for all the comments on that thread, really appreciated the feedback. Best JL
  3. ..... a.n.a.l.o.g.u.e... How come that got ***?!
  4. There's definitely a place in my future for an e-bike. But I'm sure I won't work nearly as hard on an e-bike, so for now my *** does just fine.
  5. Can I use this with my reverb? I still have the old push button...
  6. I'm happy with the 170's, but after doing some reading I'm sure 165's would suit me better. I've also submitted warranty claim, and if they honour that, i'll go for 165's. For now i'm back on my old 175's and it's incredible the number of pedal strikes i'm getting. so 165 would be perfect i reckon
  7. Thank you, will definitely get in touch.
  8. Thanks for all the comments, I really appreciate the quick replies. I'm on the same page, just wanted to see if any other options. I did speak to one of the carbon experts, and the advice corresponds!
  9. Hi I have RaceFace SIXC carbon cranks, 170mm. Awesome, except that the pedal insert has come loose. (Thread not stripped.) Apparently that cannot be fixed, but any comments on that also welcome. What I was thinking is whether I can go extreme and shorten the cranks to say 162,5. This would involve cutting etc.. It would need to be done by a very seasoned carbon expert. I'm sure the right answer is "no", for various reasons, but I thought worth a shot. Thanks JL
  10. Thanks for your great comments. Upgrading wife's groupset to XT 1x12 and she has Stans 3.30. If it wasn't for this thread, I would have had to build a complete new wheel!
  11. Hi Great pic. Is that Bloemendal or Helderberg? Thanks JL
  12. The UCT jumps have been upgraged. Super sick ones. Does anyone know where i can find a mellow pump track? Thanks JL
  13. Pics attached... Next step is to make the ramp shorter... Hopefully future pics don't turn too bloody!!
  14. I actually made a very non-portable one this afternoon. I tipped a Grecian water bath onto its side, stabilised it with braai wood, put a board over it, and voila!! Now I must just figure out how to upload a pic or two..
  15. Hi All Lockdown is getting tough, but 1 May is Freedom Day! Even if only allowing me to ride down my street. I'm VERY VERY keen to build/get a portable ramp. Any suggestions? This one looked super awesome!! Thanks JL
  16. I can just imagine the carnage this would cause! But i like your thinking!
  17. I think they're awesome! Spectral!!
  18. 5010 CC Small!! Can't wait for my beauty!! I'll pay to upgrade to Eagle XX1!! https://www.santacruzbicycles.com/en-ZA/5010
  19. It definitely seems the way to go if you want 1x. The range is awesome, and it sounds as if SRAM's made some serious improvements overall. Looks pretty neat as well (except that the gold will attract so much attention in SA that you'd probably only have it for max 5 rides before being dispossessed...) The problem is the cost - pricey! Maybe in two or three years I'll move from my 2x (XO which serves me perfectly) but until then will save my hard earned cash for road trips.
  20. What a great epic story! I do hope Emma reads the article.
  21. Wonder how light they can make it? 20kgs seems heavy, but then it is an alu frame. Handling must be quite tricky, but brilliant if used for the right purpose.
  22. Excellent, proudly SA!!
  23. Superb! Watch youtube preview for Zoolander 2!!
