  1. At the moment its free - there is no water at the rest camp, and they are not charging entrance until they fix it. So make sure you take loads of water with you.
  2. Fittrack seems to be working fine on my side. Use it most days
  3. Speak to the Watson's at Black Leopard Camp - http://www.blackleopardcamp.com/ They are near Lydenburg, and are involved in a project to try and track and photograph Black Leopard's. I don't think there has been a reliable sighting in a decade or so though.
  4. Just a note to say how much I enjoyed this "race" last night. Big up to the organisers for putting this together. Well signposted and a very appropriate track for the general riding public. And best of all, saw an hedgehog on the trail!
  5. I agree, the dirt is a non-issue in dry weather. Does anyone have an .gpx file from last year's route? Not the pre-2012 route that went through Suikerbosrand.

The crowd supoprt is amazing, little school kids shouting "shova shova" and so on. Lovely race.
  9. My goodness. I was too embarrassed to admit to having bought a set of BMC socks for R101. Now I feel a little less sheepish.
  10. Remember to factor in the cost of sales tax, which you will ordinarily have to pay in SF, but not for an online export order
  11. These look really good to me. Does anyone have experience with them. Starting to look to upgrade my daughter's 20"MTB to an 24".
  12. Can you give us an indication of what the kids’ events involve. The website simply says "to be confirmed at the discretion of Race Director"
  13. Good to see Reinardt come 5th today in the 231km 4th stage of the Tour. Another up for South African cycling
  14. Congratulations, love my BMC (roadbike). The Team Elite looks brilliant.
  15. Here's a review: http://www.mbaction.com/Main/News/Giant-Bicycles-Launches-an-Extensive-275inch-Line-6958.aspx
  16. We all complain about cars running down cyclists. In a legal first, a San Francisco court has just convicted a cyclists of vehicular manslaughter for running down and killing a 71-year-old pedestrian. Oddly, all he got was 1,000 community service. See: http://www.guardian.co.uk/law/2013/jul/24/san-francisco-cyclist-manslaughter
  17. My wife has the Revel W (with disk brakes). Nice frame, but a lousy front fork. That's what I would upgrade first.
  18. I think Gore is very good. They have a range, the top end are similar to the Assos top end. But the cost of importing (postage, vat, duties) mean that its seldom worth doing, unless there is a really good sale. I bought mine in the UK
  19. I like the Assos Mille a lot, although it is expensive. I bought mine on a sale. IMO Gore Bikewear offers the best value for money range. Also high-end, but better priced that Assos. I don't think it is available locally though.
  20. I still ride in winter. It gets dark early but its good interval training. The traffic is horrendous getting there, but it beats riding on the road amongst the traffic at the same time. Easier for me to drive to Kyalami than to the Cradle or Suikerbosrand.
  21. The average hub reader knows more than the chief mechanic for Team Sky. So should be easy to find any number of applicants for the post on the forum.
