  2. I received 2 mails....by the way, did anyone get a mail re Nissan?
  3. I was told I may not talk about this to any of you.
  4. According to an affadavit I saw, Ian is appealing, on the basis, purportedly, that he does not know how the stuff ended up inside of him. (This of course, does not imply that his appeal would be based on the above. One would not know.)
  5. Only for MSA to ****it up and give nothing to the riders. Does MX have a bizplan they may share publically?
  6. Not disagreeing with anything else in your post - however: it is not THEIR money that allows us to race. It is our money that allows us to race OR, put another way, it is our desire to race that makes us race. If there was no sponsor, people will still race. (Perhaps not all the showboaters would race, nor those who would then rather go get a "real" job.)
  7. I bet you I know who that was.
  8. This must be where Ian got his idea... Sprinter BEN JOHNSON: Admitted Cheetah Ben Johnson tested positive for steroids during the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, touching off the greatest drug scandal in Canadian sports history. Tests administered after the record-breaking 100-metre dash showed Big Ben's urine was tainted with the powerful muscle-building drug stanozolol. Johnson vehemently denied ever using steroids, and suggested the sasparilla-and-ginseng energy drink he took before his race was spiked. Eventually, Johnson did own up to taking juice and, ironically, he currently serves as the celebrity pitchman for the unfortunately-named ginseng beverage Cheetah.

  11. No, you check, I am from da east rand, and I take only two medicines for my chestbox....but that other ou, can;t remember his name, he lent me his bittle, cos Doug, or was it Ian, or Carol, was too slow to get the feed to me, and then, I could taste that that bottle wasn't right, so I frew it away straight away, and rode the rest of the race wifout water. Now, I dunno whether they spiked that bottle aspris, maar I can tell what drugs on a bottles teat tastes like. I have asthma, and I used medicine that is approved and all like all good cyclists. This 3rd medicine, which can only be bough in Mexico, over the counter, and not here, is not mine. I'll never touch the stuff. I read all about it since I was positive for my assample, and that stuff is for muscel building, recovery, for kids with bone diseases, and for athma, Oh, and it could maybe also mask other stuuf that I'd never ever take, truesbob. Moenie met my *** praat nie - lie detector test mayhap?

  17. NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS Further to the AGM, where it was tabled and seconded that the committee serving be remunerated for their expenses in running their portfolios. It was given to Terry Miller our minister of the exchequer to table an acceptable proposition. This was done at our last committee meeting held in March and accepted by the committee. The recommendation is that the chairman receives R. 750.00 per meeting and all other members R. 500.00 per meeting attended, this to be paid quarterly in arrears. Any other expense incurred in the in the line of duty must be claimed with the appropriate supporting documentation. At the annual AGM an honorarium may be paid to the committee if and as agreed to by the delegates present, funds permitting. Should you have any questions regarding the above please contact myself or Terry Miller, thanks. Giovanni Mottalini

  20. Incidentally, did any of you find a sticker in your goodiebags at Argus last year, referring to yellow lane driving? Pickfords, PPA and CSA had put money into that effort, but I never saw the result. CL
  21. as long as a rider is in the convoy....so, create a convoy around the rider....david george had two wheel-changes on friday, and both times he managed to keep to the convoy, sort of....(how to create that convoy, when the actual convoy has passed, that is complicated)
  22. Hi Guys I had a chat with Steve Hayward, chairman of PPA today, and he wished for me to collect details (names, dates, etc) of PPA-sanctioned events, over the last 3 (or so) years, where inadequate routing management was provided and which lead to confusion, incorrect results, danger, etc etc. Thanks, Carinus
  23. Remind yourselves of the time when CSA opted to send no-one to Mendrisio, then you all moaned..now CSA sends a squad to Beijing, albeit different discipline, and you all moan....I do agree with Robbie, though, and that is that track (all disciplines) should raise the bar, locally. Incidentally, JP was/is available to assist, and he is in regular contact with Dave Street, as far as I know....this does imply that he is "helping" already.
  24. don't crach again lady, it brings out the badass hubbers...
