  1. Also make sure you familiarize yourself with the danger areas in and around Cape Town. We try and make cycling as safe as possible for each other. :-) Have a look here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/32361-cape-town-danger-areas/ Best of luck and may you have many miles of smiles on the bike.
  2. Well as a general rule I live by: gym (spin) to see the hot girls and ride to get out in nature and have fun with fellow hooligans in the mountains. So in short ride for passion and have fun. Spinning helps me maintain my ideal riding weight when I cant ride my bike. I prefer to hit the gym for 45 min spinning class rather than sit in traffic on my way home.
  3. Agree on size. I am normally a 34 or large. Had to exchange mine for xl. Wasn't great for the ego heading into holiday (read eating) season. Haha. Quality is good for the price at R599. Will def not pay full price for these.
  4. This is exactly why I stay clear from test riding an e bike...I might just like it. Great question about future of these bikes in future races.
  5. Also look at Lyne components. They are local and very well priced. http://www.lynecomponents.com/dropper-posts
  6. I am a 34 and bought a large. But they have a 30 return policy :-)
  7. Shot Grayskull Quick google search reveals the going price is in fact about R12oo. Price was good enough so I pulled the trigger on one. Hope the quality is okay. Cheers
  8. Hey guys. I am building my first AM bike (29er) and have the following tyres in my garage ibex 2.4, spez butcher 2.3 and spez purgatory 2.3. What should I run front? Or sell the spez and get Magic M for the front. Thanks
  9. Exactly. I have 3x ikons and 2 x ardents in my garage. Its a great CX combo but we need rubber for our enduro and DH rides. Give us some options and I will gladly post some pics.
  10. site load balancing not up to scratch...site crashing the whole time. I take my hat off to you guys. Its not called BLACK Friday for nothing.
  11. I believe the n+1 rule apply... time to start planning an elaborate scheme to get another bike. Then the OP can be our test subject to do Strava runs on his 26 vs 29.
  12. I fly Emirates to Dubai every 2 weeks and my bike travel with me all the time. Never had an issue.
  13. Seems I have a trail to go explore this weekend. Thanks for the great review.
  14. Ah thanks Gummi. I didn't see that one one. Guess we can delte this thread and continue on the man cave one.
  15. You are 100% on the money there. I am loosing my mind because bike upgrades are way to expensive and I can't feed the ever growing addiction to add bling
  16. I know...I have a wanted add up looking for a fork...
  17. Hey hubbers. Because bike parts are so #### expensive I started to play with the idea how I could upgrade the way I store my bike to distract me from my bike upgrade addiction. I ordered a few brackets right here on hubland and tonight I dusted off my powertools (read drill) and transforemed my one garage wall. So lets start a new thread and get some pics of how bike storage should or should not look like. Here is my one.
  18. Agree. Was a fast and fun ride. The little town "gees" made my day. BIG shoutout to the peeps at the waterpoint on top of the loooong hill. Cheering us on in their yellow hats
