  1. Sorry read that too fast... rim tape. Insulation tape should be fine if you give it a couple of wraps. Other wise Duct tape will be fine.
  2. I've run tubeless setups on insulation tape alone and it has been fine. But like the others have said it is not the most robust option. The best ghetto tape I've used to date is the Gorilla Tape. You can get it at Builders Warehouse.
  3. Well they must have relaxed things cos I see Ratty was out in short sleeves... http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb11244646/p5pb11244646.jpg
  4. Is it not the same as our local events in that you can practice with a camera but no cameras (except the 4 'official' ones) in the quali & race runs?
  5. Saturday 2 August 20:15 PM – 22:15 PM (CEST) UCI Mont-Sainte-Anne - DH
  6. Very minimalist, but aesthetically does not do it for me. Will probably cost a packet too. http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb11234174/p5pb11234174.jpg
  7. Thanks chaps.
  8. Thanks for the response JB. I just ask as I have spare fork oil knocking about, (which I could use) but I've read that the synthetic motor oil provides better lubrication (particularly before the splashing around occurs). So I just want to make sure I'm moving forward and not taking a step sideways.
  9. I've never used a motor oil for the lowers, and I couldn't find the Magnatec option (only in the semi-synthetic form). Would there be any issue using fully synthetic Castrol Edge (5W-40)?
  10. Why not have them bled in SA then? That way if you have issues with the Codes you can just swop them out no problem.
  11. They do indeed. I'll have an Avid bleed kit with me and will be charging Eur35 for re-bleeds (you'll have to supply your own brake fluid). The price hike is to help afford a couple Mutzig's naturally.
  12. You just have to survive the ride to Les Gets sans breaks/brakes
  13. Just use it like a Stryder... You'll certainly learn just how good (or bad) the suspension platform is.
  14. I think you at least deserve to take it for a ride then
  15. Congrats to Tiaan on the win. Was a great weekend of riding on quite a demanding track.
  16. It was done last year too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXuoWN1ekWM

  18. I dunno... Will assess and decide once we're there. We've got plenty riding to do. I'm more psyched to go and find 'The Chute of Death' (it's some where on the lower super Morzine side & may not actually be called 'The Chute of Death', but it's super steep) and to try and ride that whole thing without getting spat off like last time. And all the other off piste trails that we only found on the latter half of our last trip.
  19. My trusty steed for this adventure. Just got a new lick of paint from the factory, to make her extra fast . May consider on a dropper...
  20. Great event and thanks to all involved. The taping of the trails and the timing set up was excellent (I only had one minor trail navigation mishap). My only regret is not pushing that little kid over in the demolition derby and taking the win!
  21. Yeah Peach you tell'em. We'll have our Spruit Rat gang shirts on too so they better watch out (although a lot of my ones printing is coming off in the wash).
  22. Not sure, but you can read about the build here
  23. I see your CR 500 and raise you another 200cc's...Maico 700cc 2-stroke death machine. One very careful owner http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh289/coxshall/DSCF0848.jpg
  24. Tim Bentley, David Hogan & Ryan Frerichs will all be in the area too.
