    Nah, I'm was being serious. I was under the impression that a helmet had to be correctly fitted (on your head!) at all times while you're on the bike, whether it be open faced or full face. That said, I had a quick look on the EWS site and they don't spell out that the helmet has to be properly fitted (on your head), which I think leaves rules open to a lot of interpretation (which is never good). So it looks like you're off the hook I guess technically they don't specify that it needs to be worn on your head, so you could wear it on your elbow then on the liason stages (as long as it fits correctly ) EWS Rules on Safety Equipment: Appendix 2 that they refer to above: For completeness the EWS rules can be found HERE

    I have and have had a helmet slip through sans duties and another attract 35% (if I remember correctly) and VAT.

    I think it is for people running low pressures and really pushing corners hard (so more aimed at the DH & enduro crowd, I think). The Procore system eliminates (or reduces) the chances of the tyre burping or running off the rim.

    In reality we have 8 - 10 girls who ride/race the KZN DH regional series (most from KZN & 1 or 2 from JHB). Most of the ladies are either elite or sub-vet. Beanie is the only regular junior girl, so there is no point to her racing against herself. That said Beanie is no slouch and has been on the podium in (almost) every race so I think her inclusion in the elite category is a good thing.

    Agreed! Would love to race my backyard trails. Also, agree with these trails being super underrated. Love the Howick trails.
