  1. Traffic was like month end this past weekend, not sure why, as it is not month end yet.
  2. The fact remains that this will REALLY annoy motorists and put people at risk, posting that it is ok (legal) to ride in the middle of the road is irresponsible
  3. huh ?
  4. and that will sure help the motorist - cyclist relationship
  5. +1 on this option...............as you dont want to end up making some "plan" or make shift rack resulting in 4 or 5 bikes mangled on the tar (goed koop is deur koop)
  6. I ride the sidewalk, the problem comes in when having to cross intersections from the sidewalk.....some would say "look at that f $@ en idiot"
  7. 100% Yes , at least in my case anyway
  8. This is hectic..beware
  9. Perhaps the best thing to do is have a team briefing before the ride starts, this is where the "rules" should made clear, if anyone has a concern or question they can raise it. Call it a safety briefing, as I am sure everyone would like to get through the day alive and well.
  10. Just want to check on all the safety guru's on the hub......... I ride (in the daylight, so not a light issue) my MTB on the pavement foot paths (next to the road), but at some point I get to a road, do I a- jump down the pavement and line up with the cars at the robot and then wait for green, then cross, then jump back up on the pavement. b- keep riding on the dirt path untill I look left, look right, then left again and cross the road
  11. I have the Easton Havens, seem fine so far. Just remember the vat and duties when you bring them in, dont get suprised like I did. Perhaps I should have just gone local.
  12. dipslick I bet you did'nt think your innocent encounter this morning would have resulted in 8 pages of chit chat.....or did you
  13. a breakthrough
  14. yes, settled but blown away, I can't believe I have been driving for so many years and did not know this, perhaps I should take a look at the RTA, & check if flashing your lights at a slower vehicle in front of you is ok and exceeding the speed limit if there are no other cars around and it is safe to do so is OK....you never know
  15. thanks for the ignorant remark!?!(always know where to come for a picker upper in the day) I will be sure to apply this new found law, I seriously did not know it was legal.
  16. jaja I know, just did'nt want to spell it out and get banned from the hub for life
  17. never heard of that, I do not think you are right, emergency lanes are supposed to be kept free and open for emergency vehicles. Hence the SOLID yellow line (solid meaning not allowed to cross) same as a solid white line... unless it has changed since I wrote my learners license, you must have answered B instead of C on that question
  18. is it "koes is poning"
  19. never ever heard of that before...legal to drive your vehicle in an emergency lane if you are letting faster vehicles go by this is what you are saying?
  20. then riding on the shoulder of the road or in an emergency lane would not be legal on a bicycle, or not?
  21. same here, I never go out looking for k@k, but if someone had to do this to me or get up in my face when I am riding "my way" expect some retaliation. edited in...dipslick not saying you went out looking for k@k
  22. maybe you could have been the better man & stopped....just a thought
  23. I'd rather take it from the front than from behind
  24. well the 2 views and the not getting along together, now seem to be resulting in cyclists now taking each other out....sad day
  25. eish this could receive some banter so go easy chaps. I like to think I'm more of a lover than a fighter & dont think it's a great idea to go around looking for k@k, sure if it cannot be avoided, then OK, but I can tell you that I ride on the wrong side of the road sometimes (yes I said it) especially when there is no shoulder on the "right side" of the road and only on the wrong side of the road. The old Heidelburg road is a great example. I also sometimes ride on the wrong side of the road when I have had some cars give me a few close shaves on the right side of the road, I then go to the wrong side so that I can see them coming.......BLAST AWAY
