  1. (hushed voice please, we're in the bush) the lesser? spotted roadie can be found way out in front right from the start of the race , soon encountered pushing his bike up the first rocky climb... also brakes a lot on the rocky descent. Does not frequent the water crossings, and moers his water wrappers at the side of the trail. Hit me you roadie scum drafting bootie granny-ring bastards.
  2. you're right. everyone knows i look better without it. wanta see a pic? Of your roly holler?
  3. I think they must all swim naked. We can start with the chicks for the next few Olympics, then convert the men in 2100.
  4. Hey, keep it down you two. I can't sleep with all the racket.
  5. I like people who insist on using their big blade, especially in the rough stuff. Thrash it out until they are all gone!
  6. Sorry, no couch, she's not allowed into the house. By order, management.
  7. Right after the service, so I had to take a pic. Mechanic tells me the big blade is shot. Feels fine to me. BigGuy use bigblade! (gorilla beating on chest sound). What are those other little rings for anyway?
  8. Sadly this is just too much for my budget.
  9. Taneesha, I think you should not get another new mtb so soon. I agree with Potent and Hog. Rather first upgrade a few things before you splurge. The enjoyment of mtbing should not be the bling, rather your fitness and skill. As they say, Just do it! SPD pedals and shoes are the first upgrade if you have not already done so. Then get a decent front fork. Something middle of the road, like RockShox Tora/Reba, pricewise. A lot of what you will experience handling-wise as you get leaner and faster will be relayed from the front fork. You can go for a tubeless conversion as well. Tubeless rims are expensive, kits such as Stan's can yield similar results if fitted properly. Then later, as the drivetrain bits wear out, replace them with better quality parts, again XTR or SRAM X.0 is overkill unless you are a pro, maximum reliability/value for money/performance is found around the XT / SRAM X.9 price range. With what you have, keep the drivetrain clean and dry-lubed and you will experience lots of happy km's with your current set-up.
  10. My Juicy 5's does this when I remove the wheel and some idiot (who can that be?) use the brake lever. Serious PT afterwards... should have taken the 7's. Seriously, try to bleed a little fluid off (just a few drops), it helps in my case. Seems the lbs likes to top it up way past with every service. My Zim$500,000,000 worth.
  11. I think I have been on this route before. My mother-in-law lives in Jay-bay. I was visiting for 3 weeks in Dec last year and took this Kabeljaus dirt track every afternoon, into Baviaanskloof. I did not go that far though, only about 70km roundtrip, but I remember the ups and downs very well. And the wind. At one point I was descending at 60km+, going around a bend, and a bakkie came up the hill. As the road was very quiet I was making the most of it around the bends. So was the bakkie. We ended up passing each other on the wrong side! Not sure who got the biggest fright! Also of note, the day before Xmas my pedal clipped a rock going downhill on the very same patch. Nastiest tumble I have had so far.
  12. Hectic ride for a black girlfriend... looks as if she will bump your balls as you pump away at her feverishly! Seriously now, I almost ordered one of your lights the other day, but ei$h, I know quality comes at a price! My budget is just not the same after the recent fuel price hikes. So I had to settle for a Trailtech SCMR16 30W HID instead. I'm sure you are familiar with those. Maybe one day I will upgrade to your "Betty 12".! Enjoy the ride.
  13. Sean, couldn't agree any more with you. The race was in the wrong town. GoLefty, do the right thing here and go find Krrrr for us... https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=29134&PN=1
  14. OK, let's be frank. One can spot the quality of a chamois a mile away. Just feel it with your fingers. Don't! and I mean never! try it on in the shop! I was shocked when the gent at the local shop recommended I try out the Assos to compare with the Santini. "Sir, you can even take a spin on here bike to test." So what happens when I do not like it? Hell, we put it back on the shelf. Or is this the designated "testing" unit? Sharing is caring, but not with my bibs, thank you very much. It's just plain wrong. I will never ever do that. But to cut a long story short... 1. Buy decent quality bibs. 2. Use something like chamois cream or baby powder, or your gf's spit to reduce chafing around the area. 3. And most importantly, RIDE MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK!
  15. I replaced my WTB racing saddle with a Giant MTB Comfort. R 149 at Sportsmans Warehouse. Best upgrade ever. I can even use my Sh!te cheapo Anatomic bibs for hours. OK, I do have 3 other pairs of Santini bibs, which are very nice. I sprinkle baby powder on the chamois before I set off. True what dad said: "Son. always sprinkle a little something over your eggs."
  16. I think the fact is that Roche has a way of detecting if somebody is using CERA. How much time it will take someone to develop a masking agent for this test is debatable. I like the idea of inserting a signature into a drug, and maybe altering it every few weeks to confuse the masking, but it is science, and someone will pull it apart somehow. Almost like a a computer virus. What I like is that this drug's half life is so extended that even if you take it now it might still be traceable for a few weeks from now. Great!
  17. I guess some UCI officials are either too influential (biased?) or too nearsighted. I think there was enough room for Paulissen, but then the bald spectator (leaning WAY over the barriers to get a better look) stuck his head right in front of Paulissen. Paulissen reacted instinctively to avoid a headbashing with granddad (now that would have been spectacular), and thus crashed into Sauser. The UCI should have given them, at the very least, equal first place, or else victory to Sauser. It is not really about who was "stronger" throughout the race, what the hell does that mean?
