  1. R 812 to be precise. Funny (?) thing was that was the exact amount I was quoted by ALL 6 bike shops I visited.
  2. What fond memories from last year! The 94.7 40km mtb race was my first race after about 15 years of just sitting on my ass in front of the tv. Oh yes, I did about a month of training to prepare. Weighed 110kg, completed it in 3h13min. This year I'm 95kg, hoping to cut the previous time in half. I remember picking up my race number and just wanting to get out of the SCC, but they forced me to walk up and down and up and down between 100s of bike goodies which I new nothing about then. This time I am surely going to spend at least 2 hours there!

I had to' date=' I could not pick my nose properly anymore. Those winter time boogers. [/quote'] they should harvest that stuff and use it as sealant. I could have plugged the hole in the tire with it. But I could not get it out. I remember the one nostril being totally clogged and the other one running freely!

A little story: Me riding Babba's, bliksemed down right after a water crossing from a flat I got right before the water crossing. Full of mud. Change the tube with effort. Realise that my newly purchased pump is on Schrader. Battle for 6 MIN to flip it around, because mud is everywhere. The fact that I clipped my nails the evening before did not help either. Who can I blame? Only myself, as I did not check everything before the race. Even forgot the CO2 cartridge, which should heve been there. I could have had a podium if I was PROPERLY PREPARED. But I was not, and as such still have a lot to learn. Looking back I can laugh about it, and I have learnt the valuable lesson of being prepared. And there will be other races in the future...
  7. Does this mean that Earl Rose will not be riding the Epic?
  8. Hallmark card in the post especially for you!!!!!!! Thanks Oom.
  9. Another fake. Really.
  10. All the while hoping that Alesi doesn't take himself and/or his team mate out in some stupid move? I loved Alesi! Speaking of, should you not be in Brooklyn? OK, me bad, that's a low blow... just couldn't resist, sorry, apologies, ek is jammer!
  11. Maybe it's just a very small person holding up a normal sized rat.

Son, go to a gym twice a week and do the leg press, leg curl and calf raise. 2 warm up sets of 10 reps, then 3 sets of 20 reps, balls to the wall (LA if you read this, just ball to the wall). And some sit-ups and leg raises. Nothing more needed, Try and add a few eggs to your diet. No more than 2-3 per meal needed. Cheap and effective. And remember the veggies, mom was right. If you like peanut butter, make some sandwiches for in-between meal snacks. Save your money, you do not need supplements. If you feel you are not getting enough veggies, use a good quality multi-vitamin. --oOo-- end of preach
  13. "Moer" is so Danville of Bez Valley....... se eerder "blixem"!!!!!!! Danville dis mos waar al die Blou Bulle vandaan kom is dit nie. Jy is reg. Daar is blou geverfde huise daar, met blou bul standbeelde in die voortuin. Genuine.
  14. Ek wonder wat die wyse Salomo sou gemaak het; 2 heeltemal verskillende weergawes van wat moontlik gebeur het...
  15. Somehow these 2 stories seem to be related... Almost attacked by a cyclist yesterday!!!
  16. Was he wearing an orange (bruce's) outfit?
  17. Zeepee, Garry is a spinning instructor and also a road cyclist, as far as I know. Do you care to name the instructor who offended you?
  18. Looks like fine ride to me. Many many many happy miles.
  19. Thanks Holy, help the man out. The pen is mightier than the sword, or in my case, the mooseknuckle. Never had a way with words with the ladies.
  20. A very unlikely scenario, as BigGuy is in proportion all over! All my missus' lady friends agree on this one.BigGuy2008-10-16 08:09:31
  21. If there is any sort of payment involved with your prospective deal with Sun International, you will need to throw together a decent proposal. You will need to prove your point, not just from your perspective (ie. a labour of love perhaps). Firstly, are you replying to their RFP (Request for Proposal)? Or is the idea coming from your side? If this is to be a business proposal, you will need to be convincing around who you are, what you do, your proven track record, how it will benefit SI and approximately how much it will cost and how long it will take. A small project plan does not hurt. I write technical (IT) proposals for a living, but leave the business details for the boss to fill in. There are some good examples and templates on the web. Google "RFP proposal template cover letter" and so on. My recommendation is just that you will need to present your proposal and you will need to sell yourself and your idea in a way akin to selling fridges to eskimos. And that is where my weak point lies... I am just too bloody honest to be a salesman! Good luck with the idea, you are more than 50% there if your prospect is an avid mtb'er.
