  1. The only setup I've done so far is saddle height. As I'm fairly new to the world of 2 wheelers I'm still figuring things out ITO setup. Although if it was setup related I would have thought that I would have the same pain on the right as well, not just the left .... I could be completly wrong though.
  2. I have the same Titan 29'er Comp that is in your signature photo. I'll definitely check that out, don't have a grinder though. If it is that will make a plan to get it sorted. Edit: What did you wrap around the frame to stop the damage and grease from the chain ?
  3. Recently started riding a 2 wheeler commuting to work. Not used to the riding position and associated neck strain with having to look up the whole time, but that is getting better. I have found however that I get quite a bit of pain in my left Trapezius leading up into the neck. So much so that it hurts when I stop at traffic lights and then look down. Can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong specifically on the left side that may be causing the pain. I have a snapped tendon in the AC joint in my left shoulder from a bad bail on my unicycle a couple years ago, but unsure if it is related though. The pain feels like it's from a muscular strain, or over compensation of something. I'm trying to relax my arms and shoulders as much as I can, but doesn't seem to help much.
  4. Another option to try, thanks ... Maybe some more experience riding on a bike and I'll get the hang of it
  5. It is a new experience or rather a renew of an old experience, but it has been at least 6 or 7 years since I was last on a bike and even then it wasn't much. I've probably done more riding in the last week commuting to work than I have in the previous 10 years on a bike. My unicycle is some much simpler to deal with, although I've just put a disk brake onto my mountain uni and have to contend with some alignment issues now. I'll redo my handy work from earlier using your tweaked method when tightening, and see how it goes later.
  6. Just did a quick adjustment as per S.I.R. Maxxis suggestions, will see how it goes on the ride home this afternoon after work. I did notice that the calliper moved when tightening it despite the brake being pulled really hard, it also pulled the disk when tightening. I tried to hold it in place when tightening it to prevent that extra pull as the washer grips the metal. Clearly I may just be doing a hack job, but let's see how it goes
  7. New to the whole 2 wheeler thing. Have a question about braking, specifically a shudder when using the back break. I assume it is due to a misalignment of the brake callipers on the disk ?
  8. hahahahahaha good one
  9. I've heard the phrase more times that I care to count, including the humming or whistling of the circus theme. I'm surprised at the lack of originallity ... or maybe I shouldn't be. I've been juggling for years, and the first question anyone usually asks me is .... "Are you a clown", "are you in the circus" Ja hey, these 2 wheeled things. Feels strange, and after a short 10 minute ride my neck was sore from looking up. I'm so used to sitting up dead straight and looking ahead and not having to look up the whole time from being hunched over.
  10. Pic didn't post
  11. I've been told so many times that I've lost a wheel ... not that I think I needed that 2nd wheel and have been managing quite fine without it. So I decided to go looking for a 2nd wheel and managed to find what I think is not bad, not knowing about things 2 wheeled related. These parts ... shifters, handlebars, chains .... are so confusing. I like the simplicity of a Unicycle, but it's not really a distance machine ... well for me anyway. I'm going to start commuting to work with this, and a few rides in the mountain, but my Unicycle is still going to be my number 1 mountain ride Titan 29'er Comp:
  12. People keep telling me that I've lost a wheel ... it's crazy I know So I thought I would look for one. Seeing that I have a 29'er unicycle that I don't ride much I figured it would be a good candidate for a 2nd wheel, so I'm looking for a 2nd 29'er wheel (aka a 29'er bike). No it's not the real reason I'm looking for a 29'er over a 26, but I'll stick with that as a valid reason for now Advice please on an entry level hardtail 29'er MTB. I've looked around at a couple in my price range, R5000 - R6000. Trek Marlin, Giant Talon 1 ... Had a brief chat with a dude at a local LBS yesterday, he also mentioned Silverback, Merida, Titan and another brand or 2. I've looked at the Titan and compared to others has similar spec components at a cheaper price, the Titan seems like good value for money. I really don't know enough about bikes and bike components to make an educated decision, so need a little help. I am going to use the bike to commute to work, and take it into the mountain occasionally ... although my mountain Uni will still be my primary downhill ride. What is decent, value for money (without breaking budget) ... Cheers, thanks

  19. No Friends Of Harry - Competition Rules
  20. My Darkest Hate - I Am At War
  21. Know of any ? Only one I know of is at the School of Magic in Claremont, although they prefer to call it the Magic Shop. Small selection of juggling and diabolo stuff along with their magic stuff. Pretty cool place
  22. OddWheel Unicycles is your best bet for a quality unicycle. You can get cheap no-name Chinese imports from various LBS'. Olympic Cycles had a few a while back. OddWheel do have an agent in Pretoria who you could check out, or they can ship to you anywhere in the country. As Flippa mentioned give them a shout, Alan is a great guy and I'm sure with a chat you guys could come to an agreement You don't need a R5K uni to learn with. The Uni's in that price range would be Mountain Uni's and larger wheeled Uni's. The Only-One and Luxus ranges are specifically suited to learning and light riding. Perfect for kids starting out. I'd be interested to know what you find and go for in the end Cheers JR

  24. Diversity rocks Definitely. I like your selection of music. It's not often you come across people with such diverse tastes in music, with a particular slant towards the heavier stuff. Today I've listened to a bunch of stuff, and I usually always listen to full albums: Clan of Xymox Coldplay Hammers of Misfortune Saltatio Mortis Decision to Hate Evile Cradle of Filth Janes Addiction Guano Apes
