Pedestrians are Hell's Spawn deliberately trying to walk straight into you, despite looking you straight in the eyes, but yet carry on their merry path/collision course ..... ok not always, but this morning I would swear that some dark power was pushing people straight into my path.

Great read So much of it makes sense to me now. After many .... many years of trying different eating regimes this is the first one that doesn't leave me craving food all the time and has me loosing weight.

Seeing that you put it like that, it seems like you do. Your so call "ignorant" is the very same people we have to deal with on the road every day. These are the feelings of the every day Joe Bloggs. Getting upset by what they said in the video must hit home. Are you perhaps guilty of the things they mention ? I personally found the video very funny, and most of it was in fact true. That is how the general public see cyclists. They see you skipping traffic lights, riding 2 or 3 abreast, etc...

You realise you're starting to really enjoy the commute when you put on your wet shoes and gloves from the previous evening's rain during the ride home, and your still damp base layers from being washed last night to head out into the cold crisp morning with a smile and not even a second thought to getting into a car

After walking into countless bike shops over the last year and a bit that I've been using a bike to commute to work I been feeling very disillusioned by all of them in terms of service. There are a couple that have tried and I would go back, but I can safely say that I have never had such excellent service as I received from Guy. He sorted out more than I initially wanted looked at, he did it all with a smile while chatting. Really made me feel at home so to speak. He was very accommodating with me riding there on my bike and I waited there while he worked on it. It's really refreshing to have such awesome service from someone. Guy's doesn't have the flash of other bike shops, but do I care about flash .. no ... not with service like that Thanks dude

An awesome unicyclist from Germany came over to SA to ride around SA on his bike for 5 months, while he was here he rode up Sani Pass on his unicycle. That must have been really cool. Such a pity we don't have the same access to bands here in SA, even low-key events.

That's really good to know, so now I can blame the equipment rather than the lack of fitness and extra weight I carry

This morning on my commute to work, riding at a good pace for me. Stop at a traffic light and a school kid on his BMX stops next to me. On green I set off up the small hill left to climb, get over the hump and start heading down .... the kid on his BMX comes pedalling past me The rest of the way down through Kennilworth into Claremont this dude is pedalling hectically but still easily staying in front of me, and I wasn't pedalling to slowly myself. I'm on a 29'er MTB with 27 gears. When the road was clear going into Claremont I had to pull up next to the guy and give him some props. He certainly made me smile, made my whole ride in this morning. I could see he looked kinda chuffed with himself, so good on him
