  1. Once all my latest points reflect we will be on Private Club, R2000 a month back in health returns for me and the wife! 20% discount at cycle lab, 50% discount on local Mango flights, not sure how they stay in business, but I am going to milk it for all it's worth.
  2. Have you adjusted the pressure in your shock adequately? My 910 can also move a little bit when locked out, but only a couple of mm. If it feels similar in lockout mode then there is something wrong, it should firm up considerably.
  3. Ja unfortunately you will have to buy the entire bike, don't really understand why Giant SA don't sell them separately cause I am sure they would sell.
  4. Was looking around for a single speed frame and came across the 2017 Giant XTC. How awesome would this frame be for a single speed? Horizontal dropouts with thru axleBoost spacing so you can run 27.5+Carbon fiberBrake caliper slides with the dropout so you don't have to adjust the brakes as chain wearsUnfortunately the frame is not available separately in SA.
  5. If anybody wants to sell a 70km entry please let me know
  6. I would suggest running the front a bit softer than the rear. If it works for you then don't worry too much. I used to ride around 2/2.2 but found that the lower pressure gives me more grip and comfort. Just keep in mind that it helps to ride cleaner lines with lower pressure, not ideal if you are the type of rider that likes to charge over the rough stuff.
  7. What ratio were you running? I am busy building the bike but have a 18 as well just in case.
  8. Hell no! You have to be either insane or Chuck Norris to ride fixie mtb!
  9. 70km with single speed running 32/16 Weight 87 2.25 rear at 1.9 2.35 front at 1.6
  10. Lucky enough to miss the rain at this years sani2c
  11. Also rode in DL, could keep up with mr camelback and the lead bunch until halfway when they dropped us on a hill. Great fun doing a road race with my brother for a change, both of us wearing baggies!
  12. Bought the bike second hand and then did a rebuild with 2017 XT 1x11. Made a creaking sound which was easily solved by servicing the pivots. Just did the Nationals at Clarens over the weekend and almost started weeping with joy on several occasions because of how lekker it was.
  13. So I went out on Saturday to complete challenge 2, keeping in mind my gps watch does not give moving time but total time. Get home and did only 4:48. So had to go out again on Sunday
  14. Only 120 left to go!! #shutuplegs
  15. Did my first ultra, damn it was tough! After that 10k climb there was not much left in the tank but managed to finish. Had to have a serious talk with myself not to push my bike the last 3km. But overall a great day on the bike, well organized with amazing views and some proper trails.
  16. I have Have been using this for a while now and had similar results. When you fill the tire it is clear to see the fiber/particle content which is supposed to seal holes. Had a couple of flats (small holes) that just kept squirting juice until i plug them, or they take forever to seal so you run out of juice quickly. I love stans but yes you have to topup/clean you tires frequently.
  17. I still remember going up the concrete for the first time and halfway up the guy in front of me started puking. Thats when it dawned on me that this is going to be special. Such fond memories! I sincerely hope Advendurance got their **** together this year, looking forward to a good hard day in the saddle.
  18. I came across SBR while searching for help online, the only problem is that they are quite far from where I stay in Pretoria, but If they really are that good I might make a day out of it. However I am pretty sure it is not an ITB issue, although it could be aggravating the problem. The pain is definitely lower down where the hamstrings attach and not the ITB.
  19. I have entered for my first comrades this year and all was going well until about a week after Johnsons Crane, which was my first ever marathon. I developed slight pain in my left knee and the physio informed me that my hamstrings are too short, and this is causing extra friction where the tendon moves across the knee at the end of my stride. Now I am stretching several times a day to lengthen them but it seems like this will take several weeks to sort itself out. Any suggestions from all you pro's out there?
  20. You Sir are a true champion of the people! I am having the exact same problem, and phoned two bike shops already. The one says I damaged the seals because I used a syringe and will most likely have to replace, the other says that they will have to send it in to Shimano as they cannot do anything to the level as it is a "sealed unit" I would think that with the amount of people riding with XT this would be a well know procedure?? Will try this out and report back.

  22. Started trail running last year and loving it! Doing the trailblazer MTB on Saturday and Trail run on Sunday in Pretoria East. https://www.jumpertrax.com/ Going for the 28km, little worried cause the longest trail run I have done so far is 20km.
