  4. registration will be in a road called Century Link
  5. if you can pay the entry fee and make the roll call - you're in.
  6. ja enter so long for the inter club, there will be no extra cost to ride in the open event as well.
  7. Fanie, that would be great , invites have been sent to the New Balance club, but no reply thus far.
  8. Entries will be taken on the day from 7.30am
  9. you got taken out by the Spartan riders. so unneccessary.
  10. the organisers have found that the current format of racing is the best. so if you are a vet and ride in a sponsored team, have your team enter the elite race or ride as an individual in the open category.
  11. NT - 7.03 , i have been riding tandem with my son for the last few years, this year he is on his own starting in E. my new stoker is my daughter, who until July 2011 had never wanted to be seen dead on my tandem. lots of soft pedalling saving the legs for the climbs. looking forward to this years one.
  12. entries are filling up
  13. Take them on Chris.
  14. come on : Bellville CC Paarl CC Wannabees CC Outriders Cyclelab Club 100 New Balance Kinetic CC any riders from these club on the hub? your club has received a special invite to send 5 cyclists (not league riders) to represent the club in the inter club challenge.
  15. City CC have a club training ride every Saturday - a 'slow' group has been established for novice/unfit riders who are looked after on the ride by members of the club. We are in Edgemead and vary our rides every Saturday. this Sat we will be riding to Llandudno, we will regroup at the parking lot above 4th Beach Clifton where the fitter riders will ride thru to H Bay and the novice group will return to edgmead.

[/url] Century City Criteriumhttp://www.citycyclingclub.org/Portals/_default/Containers/Vision-Red/min_w.gif http://www.citycyclingclub.org/Portals/0/SandBox/054.JPG Century City Criterium Date: 4 March 2012 Venue: Century City The Century City Criterium is hosted annually by City Cycling Club as part of the Century City Property Owners Association Sports Festival. The 1.7km circuit is closed off to traffic for the duration of the racing event and therefore making the event as safe as possible. The event kicks off at 8.00am with the City Cycling Club Criterium Championship for City Club Members. This is followed by other category races and culminates in the main race of the day, the Elite cycling teams who will race for 1 hour + 1 lap. The inter-club challenge, the 3rd race of the day, is a new addition to the programme of races - we have invited all of the clubs of the WPCA to take part in this race and we trust this will ignite and foster healthy inter-club competition. Prize Money Elites - 1st (R2000), Elites - 2nd (R1500), Elites - 3rd (R1000) Other Categories - 1st, 2nd, 3rd (Dependent on Total Entries) Order of Events - Estimated Times City Cycling Club Champs - 7.50am to 8.15am U14 / U16 - 8.25am to 8.55am Inter-Club Challenge - 9.00am to 9.30am Open PPA - 9.45am to 10.30am Elite - 10.45am to 11.45am
  17. its going to be interesting to see how many clubs enter the 'interclub' challenge. i have sent out invites to all the clubs in the WPCA, so far its City CC vs Mohamediyah CC
  18. its under the forum 'stolen bikes'.
  19. its all about being thrown in the deep end......so the rider qualifies to ride 'league' but he hasn't the necessary skills to race....or hasn't experienced racing. on top of it, most of the 'stars' group have the same problem, no racing experience and too much testosterone from the youngsters. a recipe for disaster. look what happened on sunday, the rider flew down smits, panicked, hit the brakes and took himself out and unfortunately others as well.
  20. City Cycles is a cycling shop & i don't think they have cyclists riding in their kit (i don't even think they have kit). City Cycling & Athletic Club commonly known as City Cycling Club had a few riders at yesterdays event. go to www.citycyclingclub.org if you want to find out more about us.
  21. City CC ride the Polka St'bosh, B''leray loop often on a sunday morning and we impress upon all in the group to ride past that stretch as one group with no gaps.
  22. no it's not just you a lot of elite & subvets are sponsored (even if its just for the entry fee) so they don't even feel the higher entry fees. also remember from u16 down , no prize money is paid out as well. i wonder what type of prize money the winner of elite earns.
  23. too many walkers , runners, dog walkers, roller bladers & poles to call it a bicycle lane. i have also noticed a lot more social riders and parents with young kids using the lane, which is great. but its not great for a group training ride.
  24. i haven't ridden the s suburbs rides for quite a few years (don't like the aggro traffic in the area) and i climb like a bag of cement. okw is just too close to the start for me....i enjoyed the ride once we were over okw....the roads are still in as bad a condition as they were when i last rode. traffic on sp'se'mag road wasn't too bad but then again it was still early. wind was a great leveller. i couldn't believe that some of the long route riders were walking up the start of boyes drive.
