  1. Looks amazing, who did that paint for you?
  2. Spent Saturday stripping down, cleaning, polishing and rebuilding the Moser. Its has a Columbus SLX tubeset and is a Team issue frame, so top of the range in its day. I decided to keep the Shimano 600 Tricolour on it for now. The bike was bought new as a frame set only and the owner had the bike shop build it with 600. So I decided to keep it as originally purchased. A few small chips on the paint, but otherwise in superb condition, even the chrome is amazing considering its age and living along the Durban coastline.
  3. Got this over the weekend, agreed on a price with the seller last night (who happens to be a guy I know very well). It was his fathers bike and he bought it new and spec'd it with Shimano 600 7 Speed. I have a Campag C-Record groupset with Delta's that i think may look very nice on this frame. Frame is in amazing condition, 2 or 3 paint chips and the chrome is in outstanding condition. Pictures not the greatest, will post once I have stripped and cleaned it all up.
  4. That would be good marketing for sure. The first versions like the ones I have had the issue with the velcro. I also have re-glued mine a few time... just saying
  5. These work very well. I bought a set ages ago from CWC and use them on my Thule hanging rack for my kids bikes. Much better than a pool noodle and they dont get lost in transit somewhere along the freeway. I find most racks bikes sit very close, this way I know non of the bikes will rub against each other. Im very happy with how they work, just my 2 cents.
  6. She turned out nice Steve. You use vinyl decals or water transfer and where did you get them from?
  7. Damn, looks very nice. Well done. May I ask who did the chrome work for you, looks like they did a good job?
  8. My new addition. Needs a solid strip, clean and polish. It has ergo's on at the moment but I have the original record brake levers. Will put them on once cleaned and rebuilt.
  9. I need those bars and stem and some fiemme rims and I can complete my Cinelli special corsa track bike. Damn stunning looking piece of art.
  10. Wally and Ingrid have always been super involved. When I was racing competitively at schoolboy lever in the mid to late '80s they were there to support the Natal team and always sponsored young up and coming riders. Congrats on the shops birthday.
  11. If you ever want to sell that frame, please get hold of me.
  12. Raul Alcala (PDM) era Concorde. Let's see some pics. That Somec is stunning. Everything about their bikes is just so classy and so much detail. Nice find.
  13. Thats an Exage groupset on the bike.
  14. Images of my 1989 Hansom (Right), and Colnago. Colnago doesnt qualify because it has a modern groupset on.
  15. What makes you think it's a de Rosa? That little heart shaped lug is there to stop the gear shifter clamp from sliding down the frame when there is tension on the cables.
  16. Bill Lange only made custom frames. He never made production frames. So every Delange you ever come across will have been made for a specific person. This is what makes them so great... Hence Bill only ever making around 200. All bespoke made to order.
  17. That bike is a keeper. Bill Lange made about 200 custom, bespoke frames. The frames that you will find will more often than not be very large frames or very small. He is considered one of SA's best frame builders. The one LooseCog gave me is made from Reynolds 653 tubing. The name De'Lange is a play on words. It's actually a name of a Col in France, the Col de Lange (say with French accent). The meaning of the word (loosely translated) means mountain of angels,or something to that effect. If you look closely at the logo/crest headbadge you will see it looks like an angel. Angel wings and a chainring as a halo. The legendary Ron Thompson was involved with Bill and came up with the logo/badge and the name del'ange. I bought a set of original decals from Ron a whole ago. I now need to restore the frame.
  18. Just received my wheel truing stand. Not bad at all for R765.00 Perfect for home use and its nice and light and compact.
  19. R765.00 from my LBS, should be here this Friday.
  20. That's exactly what I thought. Have already enquired at my LBS.
  21. I would say those groupsets need to be swapped around. The Colnago has to have that Campy groupo on and the Daccordi will look awesome with the Sante'. Just my 2c worth
  22. Detto Cycling Shoes
  23. I would be interested in the frame if you selling. What size Centre to Centre please. PM Sent
  24. Look, if I had the million odd rand for the collection I would have it about now. For me I love riding the few vintage bikes I have. If I had a collection that size I would display it. I don't see the point in just having them hidden away. I would have some kind of museum so others can appreciate the classics. It's not everyday you see 150 odd vintage bikes under 1 roof. Share the enjoyment is my philosophy.
  25. Here is my 1989 Hansom, Reynolds 525 Tubing with 7 Speed 105. My parents bought me the bike brand new from Dave Wiseman and I have owned it ever since. I got my Natal colours on it in 1991. I resurrected it about 2 years ago. The groupset is from a donor bike, but is exactly the same as the one I had on. The original groupset was in bad shape due to many accidents racing as a schoolboy. The frame was resprayed the original colour and my paint guy masked all the original decals, so those are still all original. I also still have my original SKS pump that stays on the bike now. I rode my very first Amashova on it in 1992, and last year I rode the bike again in that race after more than 20 years. I still love riding that bike, just so many memories and history. The Colnago is my more recent restoration.
