  1. I have done it to my road bike. You can either machine the free body, or like I did machine the back of the cassette. I have access to a machine shop so its not an issue for me. Below image is an example for a DT Swiss hub. I used the same measurement on my shimano hubs and it works fine. But I recommend checking before machining. Measure twice, machine once.
  2. Love Matthews work. As a tradesman myself I can appreciate the skill involved with the hand work, what amazes me is his artistic side and how he gets it down just right. Not everyone has that combination. Would love a bike built by him....one day
  3. Sorry to hear about this OP. Surely the reason we all have FICA (Banking) and RICA (Cellphones) in place is to avoid this or at very least give tractability when fraudulent transactions happen, like this one? Maybe someone in the industry can clarify, in layman's terms, what these financial and communications regulations mean and how they are meant to protect Joe Public, because im not seeing the benefit of them if there is no recourse.
  4. A bit of "Sole saver" (used for shoes) applied with an ice-cream stick and you should be good to go
  5. I see they all appear to be threadless. I have also been looking as 12g fit into my mini pump that doubles as a hand pump once the cartridge is spent. I have yet to find replacements.
  6. RIP cyclist Disgusting culture that has developed in our country, zero value for life. Lots of commuting cyclists use that road. I use that road home every evening on my motorcycle, Its been widened and has new tar, which has meant people drive a lot faster now.
  7. Also got the SMS. Would love to know if spec is the same, because its a brilliant deal.
  8. Freuler frame ideal for Olffie1
  9. It will be Amashova #25 for me, but this year I'm riding the 35km with my 10 year old twin sons and wife. Something I have waited 10 years to do, and hopefully will get to ride their first 106km with them too in the near future.
  10. Didn't they "forget" to pay the insurer or was that only last year?
  11. Red grape juice with a pinch of salt to take the sweet taste away and bananas.
  12. Spoke to a mate of mine who is in comms with ambulance services locally, he hasn't heard anything. Lets hope it stays that way, holding thumbs.
  13. I really hope this isn't true. That section of road is incredibly dangerous when it comes to motor vehicles and the township so close to the road. Any local should know not to use that section of road. Flippen hope this is not what our roads have come to. If its true, I hope he is going to be ok..sh*t man
  14. Power supply to the internal motor
  15. Ordered and paid for my stuff Thursday last week, everything was delivered this morning before 10am. Only issue is the cassette I requested was sent wrong, so waiting for a reply to exchange that. Otherwise all is in order.
  16. Very doable and not a bad idea. Just make sure the rear drop out spacing is 130mm and not 126mm of the much older frames. You might get away with a 128mm spacing, but 130mm is where you want to be. For 4k or 5k you should be able to get a nice mid to top end Italian frame and the rest you can spend on components. I have a 1986 Colango Master with 10 Speed Campag record on. Its one of the nicest bikes I have ever ridden.
  17. Nice bike without a doubt. Some pics of the actual bike would give a better idea of value. Its something I would consider having in my collection, I like steel, but these are nice frames. If I'm not mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong) the earlier models had a tendency to crack on the top tube near the seat clamp area, so just check for hairline cracks at the welds.
  18. Don't buy the Titan, it isn't in the same league. That 'Dale looks clean and an upgraded groupset over time will make it up to date, you wont be sorry.
  19. Looks in good shape. I still ride a CAD 3 and love it. One thing with a Cannondale Alu frame, they stay nice and stiff, unlike a lot of other brands around. For R3500 I say its not a bad deal.
  20. Will this ever stop. RIP rider and condolences to the family. Just out of respect for the man and his family, maybe don't show the last image.
  21. http://mtb.ubiqyou.com/ I have used this and haven't had any issues. I would say you could run 0.1bar less if you really wanted to. Its a good start point.
  22. The only Alu frame for a guy your height and weight is a Cannondale, don't even look any further. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/260210-cannondale-caad-5-brand-new/ Try this out. May be a little big, depending on your inseam measurment. But this is something you should be looking at. Otherwise the other option is a "Classic" steel frame. Depends on what type of riding you want to do of course.
