Agreed... However, the issue here is that European summers are just far too short... As it is, we have had stages abandoned in the past due to the Italian winter carrying over into May.

The first 9 stages haven't really stirred much emotion with regard to "incredible cycling stages" have they?

That has got to be one of the most depressing stage endings I've ever seen. Really felt for all the injured riders and have to say that the way the Italian roads get so slippery in the wet has got to be looked at. Even the commentators said that the Irish road surfaces were fine in comparison.

"Nice" is probably not the best word to use where race ending crashes were the cause for the shake up

Michael Matthews was saying in his interview yesterday that his team will work hard today and he will try get the stage victory. I guess the fact that a semi-sprinter is fancying his chances means it will likely be a 20 odd man sprint finish.

Funny enough, the 'Ryder' I have who hasn't contributed as yet is none other than the 2012 Giro winner.

Ulissi is in my fantasy league team... Really looking forward to today's hilly sprint finish... There are a select few that could be in the running for this one....

Interesting tactics being played out today with Viviani, Swift and Farrar all in the break. Presumably these being the sprinters who feel they cannot handle the peloton attacking the speed hump at the finish?

Michael Matthews is looking like an inspired selection (sadly I missed this one)! I have him as my favourate to win todays stage and possibly tomorrows as well.

Okay, so to answer my own question, this video seems to clear it up... It appears the bearing pre-load can be tightened. I'm thinking I should probably get this done by a shop right?

Hey Guys, On my Easton EC90SL wheels, I've noticed that the rear wheel has a slight amount of 'play' from side to side. Excuse the non-technical description, but I literally have no idea how else to describe it. I can't say I've noticed it while riding though but it definitely doesn't seem right. Might this be an issue with the hub, the bearings or something else? Thanks Wez-O

Yeah it seems that way. At 85kg, its difficult to see him being competitive in the jersey competition as well as on stages with anything more than speedbumps. Speaking of which, tomorrows stage would have suited a 73kg sprinter like Sagan perfectly.

This is scary, but apparently it was nowhere near the Giro route and it could very well have just been pure coincidence that it occurred during the Giro. The media will obviously be quick to work up some sensationalism.

Agreed! I recon Matthews could very well win stage 5 and/or 6 due to the humps at the finish.

I thought as much... However, surely he will win again today plus add at least another 2 victories before stage 13. I honestly can't see how anyone can beat a sprinter who can close down a gap in the final sprint (without a teammate) and then out sprint the competition to the line. Yes I'm referring to stage 3.

Looking forward to the hilly finishes on stage 5 and 6.
