  1. Lets not confuse a flat ITT such as the above and a hilly one... Cadel will take close on a minute out of the 3 Hispanic riders on a flat ITT.
  2. Formula 1 cars need to make a noise (and a lot of it) as its the pinnacle of motorsport. When you sat at a live Grand Prix prior to 2014, the noise made the hairs on your neck stand up and your knees weak
  3. This is just taking the p*ss! haha Make no mistake, I love soccer and have played club soccer in my younger days (as a winger which means stacks of running) and yes it can be damn tough but it can't compare to a good bike race. I'm talking racing here, and not just "riding" the 94.7 in 4 hours. One day racing is non stop intervals and surging... Or take a criterium for example, where you can sit with an average HR of 90% of max plus for an hour, or an endurance event where you pedal hundreds of KMs for consecutive days. All three are tougher than the toughest football game I have ever played.
  4. Very true, those will most definitely put some hurt into the legs! Hoping the snow stays away this year so our viewing isn't interrupted
  5. Yeah its definitely going to be close. I've heard it said that this years tour is "easier" than past editions from a climbing perspective. If Cadel can do damage limitation in the mountain stages, perhaps his TTing ability could carry him to victory? Uran, Rodriguez and Quintana are all in the same boat regarding their average TTing ability, so there are many scenarios to which this tour could play out... AND what about a certain 2012 Giro winner who is apparently in good form?
  6. Awful news, so sorry to hear this. There was apparently a cycling fatality yesterday in Edenvale near the R24, I wonder if it was not the same incident?
  7. Agree with the OP! The English Premier League footballers were complaining about 3 games a week at the end of December... Thats 3 games of around 12km covered per day... Umm, even a basic South African 3 day road tour sounds more strenuous than that, never mind a 3 week grand tour of 3,500km where the riders still ride 100km on their 'rest' days just to keep the legs spinning.
  8. Good to hear the positive review... I'll definitely use these guys sometime.
  9. I also recon that Momsen are the best value for money in that range. Infact, I've had a pro mountain biker tell me that Momsen are even the best value for money in the 20-30k range.
  10. I can't help but feel that he will lose too much time in the two individual time trails?
  11. I went to this race two years ago, there is a grandstand at turn two which has one of the best view points at any track in the world. Great track in near a uber cool city. When Alonso performs it turns into a football stadium atmosphere.
  12. I'm in!
  13. Check on the Chain Reactions website... I bought shifters from there the once and due to them being components, didn't have to pay duties.
  14. Why is 'pirate' not an option?

Marquez makes the saying 'boys against men" seem pretty silly!
  16. Froome defends the Tour of Romandie title! http://www.espn.co.uk/PICTURES/CMS/65700/65777.3.jpg
  17. Don't stay in Newlands, it will be difficult to get to the start and finish from there. The Waterfront, Sea Point, Green Point, Camps Bay, Clifton or certain parts of the CBD would be your best option. The race starts in the CBD and finished about 4km away from that point in Greenpoint (outside the Cape Town World Cup stadium).
  18. Hey guys, you really MUST do the the sensational Argus race! I know people who were unfit that have finished the 'race' so its by no means impossible. However, the better trained you are, the more you will enjoy it. See you in March
  19. Goodness, that sounds incredible! That is a beautiful area of f a beautiful country. Although I haven't cycled there myself, I had a quick look online and it appears there are a lot of cycling routes and tours that are available in the area. The tours have an option to include bike rental. Check out there sites for more information: Rental and/or tours can be found here - http://www.bicyclinginitaly.com/ Tour company - http://www.cycleclassictours.com/cycleholidayseurope/cyclingitaly/ Cycling routes in the area - http://www.italylakes.net/2011/11/07/lake-como-cycling-routes/
  20. Sami Sánchez is an incredible addition to the team! I cannot believe that his future in the sport was was in jeopardy at the end of last season.
  21. O yes.. A lot of it! They did pay out for the frame Very good point hey 'Dale, Thanks Fynbos!
  22. Make sure you do some 94.7 seeding races (I think the D2D & Race For Victory are the only ones left for the year). Then make good use of your training time and you should definitely be able to give a sub 3 a good go. While we are discussing the 94.7, does anyone know where the start/finish will be this year as its apparently no longer Waterfall Estate?
  23. My bike and I were once attacked by several Chappies fynbos while innocently free falling down the cliff on a nice windy Argus day...
  24. What does that cost just for the cleats?

    MTB Clubs

I think MTN 100 and Active Worx have clubs in your area...
