    Mzansi Tour

How much climbing is there between now and Saturdays Criterium finish? Here's hoping Louis Meintjies can put in some good attacks!
  2. Quick rant, but how the heck does that corrupt idiot Bernie Ecclestone continue to have races in Bahrain, a country with no Formula 1 fans? The few stands that they actually have at the track were probably 80% empty on raceday. Obviously its all about the money, but its still bull!

By the way, who saw that scumbag Manuel Quinziato of BMC slapping Johann van Zyl of MTN Quebeka after Van Zyl accidentally caused an accident. Qunziato then proceeded to rant and rave like a madman on Twitter and refused to apologise. Apparently the BMC team have subsequently apologised. Here is the Twitter politics link, feel free to add your bit... https://twitter.com/jarradvz/status/452894366831751170/photo/1 http://pbs.twimg.com/media/BkkBBryIYAAw1vd.jpg

Agreed, Spartacus rode an extremely intelligent race. I honestly thought he had cooked his goose when the group of 4 split with 3km to go. He calmly waited for the Belgium (van Marcke) to close down the Belgiums and attacked at the perfect moment. I was also very glad to see that Van den Bergh didn't even make the podium after he rode one of the most negative team games I've ever seen.
  5. I would tend to agree with this.

Spartacus my boy! What a race and what an exciting finish.

HAHA good point. Actually, the Paris Roubaix was the race last year that had us causing a big scene on The Hub and social networks after Supersport had planned to not broadcast it live. Thereafter they "changed their mind" at the last minute and showed it on the Blitz channel.

Ahh... So you are saying that I should only cancel my DSTV in two weeks time?
  9. A grey import is when a genuine bike is brought into the country via a non official channel (in other words not via the official distributor). A fake is a fake.
  10. Sadly not many people... However, if someone knowingly buys a fake bike due to the cheap price, then I guess that is their prerogative. The issues (as per this thread) is when a LBS charges a customer for a genuine bike and then cons them by selling a fake.
  11. Aha... Were there not by any chance direct links to the CS site?
  12. Where were these frames advertised Gummibear? Agreed, the Evo definitely looks fake... The forks shape, the cabling and the BB look out of sorts.

I hear you hey! Netflix and Hulu are superb (apart from the fact that as you correctly pointed out, they contain too many days worth of Greys) and nowadays it's possible to stream most any sporting event via the net.
  14. So just a quick rave about Ridgeway Cycles in Greenstone who recently went out of their way to help me with a bike issue I had after another East Rand store (which shall remain unnamed) were completely and utterly useless in their half-assed efforts to "assist". Keep up the good work Rory and the Ridgeway lads!

It appears not, nor the Paris Roubaix next weekend... Streaming via the internet is the way to go.

    Emperors Race

As Gary said, you should go with CL and just stick in the group for as long as possible.
  17. From a road cycling perspective, I'd go with Stellenbosch and Nelspruit/Sabie. From a Mountain biking perspective, definitely the Drakensburg.
  18. Guys, I haven't had the chance to read this entire thread, BUT I have noticed a special on carbon wheels at this shop in Broadacres that you all speak of... Should I go for it?

    Emperors Race

I'm racing the Mzansi Tour Criterium on the Saturday, so may bleed during the final KM's of the Emperors race with the VAs. All part of the fun I guess
  20. Whats even worse are commuter cyclists that ride on the wrong side of the road, Wow that grates my t*ts!
  21. The OP user must have the best ratio of "liked posts" to "posts" of any user on The Hub.
  22. 74 pages of ranting and raving about a crooked shop can't be good for business...
  23. As much as I do most of my reading in digital format, I have to agree that there is indeed nothing like flicking through the physical pages of a magazine.
  24. Thats a great deal at that price for one of the best alloy bikes on the market.
  25. It's more the gearing ratios that will make the difference on climbs rather than the brand. Obviously the better the actual gears, then factors like less weight and smoother shifting come into play. Generally with Shimano, Claris and Sora are the cheapest gears with Tiagra being better and 105 better yet and so on.
