  1. Yes, Sasha is not scared to talk a bit of cr@p
  2. for R10k you should have no problem finding a 2-3 year old bike with 10 speed 105 and probable stuff like carbon forks. Try look for a Cannondale CAAD8 in that range, awesome alloy bike!
  3. I'd recommend rather buying your wife resilient tyres such as Conti Gatorskins and remember to keep those tyre pressures high which should prevent most pinch flats.
  4. Oldish topic, but sure I'd be keen on something like this in Joburg.
  5. HAHA O yes!
  6. Here we go...
  7. My new Cannondale Black Nano.
  8. Thanks all (especially Spidey), I can announce that I'm now the proud owner of a Cannondale Black Nano... Rode it yesterday for the first time, and WOW what a bike!
  9. Thanks guys... So its down to Hi-Mod vs a used Nano... Mainly because I don't want to upset Dale Spinnekop, let's chat
  10. Guys, So it turns out that after a crash I will need to replace my Cannondale SuperSix frame. Now being a big fan of the SuperSix, I am naturally leaning towards buying the new Cannondale Evo. However, there do appear to be several frames available and I'm trying to figure out which would be not only the best bet, but also the best value for money. From my understanding, the 2014 Evo comes with 3 carbon fiber options: 1. Nano Hi-Mod 2. Hi-Mod 3. Entry level I presume the with the price, comes better 'carbon weaves' with lower counts meaning less weight and more stiffness. Is it really going to make a major difference though? Otherwise, is there another bike someone can recommend? I've been rather impressed by the reports on the Giant TCR Advanced SL. And go...

I hear you. I was also in B and I can honestly say that I have never seen as many crashes as I did in this race. At one point around 30 riders appeared to go down on the Blue Route.

The problem with only a one minute gap between B and C is that it would have taken close on a minute for the 300 plus B group riders to cross the start line and the C group leaders probably only had to close a 15 second gap at the start to catch the back of the B peloton.
  13. Maybe Wiggins didn't feel like riding this week?
  14. There should also be an item for cars that turn in front of oncoming cyclists. Sometimes its due to the driver of the vehicle not seeing the cyclist, sometimes it's due to arrogance and not giving a damn as cars are bigger and heavier than bikes right?
  15. See Alonso's victory in Malaysia 2012 where he won in the rain in the worst Ferrari in several decades... The best will pull rabbits out of hats even if they have no chance in the title race.
  16. As for Vettel, we all know that he is a superb driver while driving the best car on the track, however to be classified as a Formula 1 legend alongside Senna/Schumacher, he will need to win races in a poor car... Go watch Senna at Esterol in '85 and Donnington & Adelaide in '93. Assuming Adrian Newey doesn't pull another rabbit out the hat and turn this years Bull into a dominant machine, this could be the season we learn a lot more about the young German.
  17. Yeah it's tough on Riciardo, who really does seem like a nice down to earth guy. Silly mistake from the team for sure though. Regarding the helmets, I miss the 'good old days' where a drivers helmet was like his signature and stayed with them throughout their career... Like Senna's iconic yellow helmet, Prosts French flag or Mansell's Union Jack. As for the noses, they are indeed shocking with STR & Mercedes being the pick of a bad bunch. However, as the season goes on, I expect most of these designs to change drastically and the anteater nose in particular will probably disappear.
  18. It seems the pundits pre-season predictions of the Mercedes being the car to beat could be correct... But yes agreed, the fact that the gap between the front six is minimal surely means we are in for a great season... Until Adrian Newey brings out another piece of engineering genius that makes the Red Bull unbeatable again (snore).
  19. Looks like a good deal to me... What do you lot recon? Ps. Beware of this thread becoming another 26er vs 29er p*ssing contest
  20. O yes, I was thinking just that! I'll have to ride next years race incognito... Thanks BogusOne!
  21. The general consensus is that riders under a certain height (I think it's 1.78 or so) are better suited to 26er / 650b rather than 29ers. There is not much point riding an extra small 29er is there?
  22. I too have been looking for Rock n Roll lube (no, not the Mike Jagger kind while in his camper van with twins) everywhere without success. So what is the next best dry lube?
  23. He reminds me a lot of Senna actually... He has this tenacity while always giving his all and the ability to bring the best out of an average car. For the last few seasons, the Ferrari at times has been fourth quickest team and yet he consistently gets podiums. Anyone remember Senna driving the wheels off that rubbish Mclaren Ford in 1993?
  24. There are three certainties in life... tax, death and Fernando Alonso.
  25. I was thoroughly impressed with Thomas today, he is becoming a very useful road cyclist after moving over from track cycling.
