  1. My thoughts exactly!
  2. YES!!! We had a massive group accident in this years race after some pr#ck dived to the right and into our group which was passing him.
  3. I'll be watching the clock!
  4. Sounds good.
  5. Is this race a seeding for the 94.7? The 125km should be fairly flat right?
  6. Just checked the Cyclefit website and you are looking at R550 for a fitment. A little steep isn't it?
  7. I just bought the Cannondale Supersix with full Dura Ace. Will let you know after this weekend how it goes
  8. Alonso has no chance driving that piece of Italian sh#t against an Adrian Newey car in the dry. I'll take my chances with him in the wet then. I also haven't forgot that of the two wet qualifying sessions this season, Alonso has taken pole in both and in the wettest race of the season in Malaysia, Alonso won.
  9. Rain predicted for both Saturday and Sunday in Sao Paulo. Hope it P#sses down! Come on Alonso!!!

    2012 94.7

Really enjoyed the race and was satisfied with my 3:20 despite the fact that I was involved in a massive crash on the double decker highway just 23km in when some idiot dived into our faster moving group and sent a whole bunch of riders crashing to the deck. I finished looking like Robbie Hunter in the 2012 Tour de France with all the blood and torn Lycra I had.

Feel free to add me to the BB group (charity entries). I'm starting with the likes of Daryl Impey & Robbie Hunter
  12. Good to knowm, thanks. I'm also doing my first Argus next year. I remember hearing about guys being blown from their bikes by the South Easter 2 years ago. Eek!
  13. Well done bud, welcome to the sport!
  14. I have the Ultegra and I'm very impressed with them. Ultegra vs 105 is perhaps like saying XT vs SLX.
  15. Guys, how does the Argus compare to the 94.7? Nearly everyone I've spoken too recons it's easier dispite the extra distance.
  16. Agreed, I started in A8 group and broke away from the group with a few others at the start and had pretty much no one pass me the entire race while I passed hundreds of riders. Thus at worst case I should have been 5th in the group standings. When I check the racetec results, I'm something like 80th in the group. So at least 75 (probably far more) riders took the shortcut. This was confirmed by the fact that a friend of mine started in A7 10 minutes ahead of me, I made up the time and passed him inside 8km and yet he crossed the line 25minutes before me. What seemed to have happened is that at the T-junction under the Gautrain bridge, the late A7/A8 riders turned right toward the finish line instead of left and thus missed out a 18km or so loop. What a stuff up from the organisers!
  17. I wonder if Nedbank will let him keep his insurance policies with them?
  18. Perhaps he decided to take up doping after watching last weekends Carte Blanche? Now he's looking good for a book deal in 3 to 4 years time.
  19. Planet F1 had this to say about his antics and sadly that not far off...
  20. A donkey (except an Aussie donkey named Webber) could win a championship in an Adrian Newey designed car. Vettel has done well this season, but that Red Bull is untouchable and easily the fastest car! Alonso on the otherhand has been sensational all season driving one of the worst Ferrari's Ferrari have sent out in many years! Not since Senna in 1993 have I seen a driver outperform his cars potential as Alonso has this season.
  21. I'm 1.82 and fit comfortably with a L. I suggest going and trying out a few bikes and seeing which fit you feel comfortable with. All good cycle stores with measure you up free of charge as well.
  22. Jens, what a lad!!!
  23. Anyone riding in the charity groups from 8:18?
  24. Wow sounds like an interesting race. I'm also doing this one just for a bit of a leg spinning (hopefully on the bike not off it).

How does entering for a charity work then? I entered under a friends charity this year and I'm only starting at 8:18, hoping that there are some decent riders in the group at least in the 3:30 time bracket. Should I not expect much from such a group?
