  1. Yup, that is a good tuning, although the tone does sound a bit nasal for a Steinway but perhaps that is more a product of the microphone than the preparation of the piano's hammers.
  2. I'm not so sure about that figure for the climbing - my guess would be more around the 900m - 1000m range. Anyway, the weather is looking perfect for race day:
  3. The trouble is that no matter how fat you get you will never set off the "pressure plate". As far as I know it is simply a loop of wire embedded in the road that detects the electro-magnetic field of a large metal object. I suppose you could carry a roll of tin foil and then when you get to a red light just stop and unroll it over the sensor area and then the light will change. Hopefully you can roll it up and put it back in your jersey pocket fast enough to set off before the light changes red again, all the while making sure your bike doesn't get stolen as it sits to one side while you do all of this.
  4. I see that the bigger cogs on the cassette are dished to follow the shape of the spokes thus being able to squeeze the extra ratio into the cassette without making the chain too much thinner.
  5. Eish. If that was implemented across all government departments we would have have national mass protest action due to unfair working conditions.
  6. Crazy Russian cyclist!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW7pgy__xLY
  7. Sheesh, he makes it look so easy - I'm sure there's something fishy going on there....
  8. Thanks tombeej. I have often wondered about that.
  9. Flip but that is a fast run through there!

  13. Perhaps he would have made it if he was clipped in though...
  14. So, who is going to stop by at CS and ask them for their version of the CB story? I would but it's a bit far from KZN.
  15. Chainsaw and I from were taken by our bikes from howick to wartburg via albert falls
  16. I think we are going to have to see some pics of said garden and surround sound once installed/ finished!
  17. And there you have it - world class trail builders right here in little PMB.
  18. No, I think you are not giving yourself enough credit - that should have read "the tracks were largely unaffected due to the design and building of the course being so amazingly good"
  19. True that, but you could also claim that you heard about them on thehubsa and then that should set their minds at rest as you wouldn't know what was going on over at the Cycle Hub.
  20. I wonder if anyone is brave/ silly enough to set up a little sting operation and try order a new Pinarello, perhaps a hidden camera or microphone and see if you can get them on record claiming to supply the real deal and then busting their scam wide open. (of course one would need a spare 91k floating around to pull it off)
  21. Hey Nige, how did this affect the course, if at all? Pic that GM posted on Facebook taken on the 21st
  22. PMB is in the bush - sorta
