Hi, Needing some advice please? I know the market is slow these days and cash is a little tight but need a little advice. I have a Super Six Frame and Fork that i could rebuild with either new 105 or Ultegra , wheelset- Dura ace 7801 or MAvic r-sys, the other bits and bobs i have so it would'nt take to much to build up a "decent ride " for someone from R 20.000.00 depending on the pocket??? The question is will this be more marketable/sellable vs just the frame,fork and BB??? The problem with me building is i would use shimano as its what i know but someone might want "campi" or "Sram" so i could be outlaying more cash and it just sits like many other good deals on the Hub these days?? your advice wil be appreciated?? cheers Goose

hi, got a set of dura ace 7801 -tubless wheels on the merida i bought last week. The wheels have done only 200kms and i'm in two minds about keeping or selling?? i think these wheels came out sometime in 2009 but were bought new by the previous owners march 2011. So asking the "hub value" should i decide to post them?? thanks goose

as mentioned ealier he picked the stuff up from my "old man" in Athlone park and bullshiited my balie that he had spoken to me and all was ok for the eft when he got home. i never send goods off without the money being paid into my account and all those that have bought from me know that i have a money back policy if its not as i have posted.

i never met the chap but had sold 2 x other components that he paid for no problem and when he enquired about the wheels no alarms bells went off. he did however want to see the wheels before paying and because i was flying to plett on the 23rd from DBN i offered to leave them with my "old man" who stays in Athlone park . He picked them up together with a stem and bar on the 27th, and proceeded to tell my dad that he had spoken to me and all was ok if he did an eft when he got home. My dad did try to call me but i had lost my phone in the Knysna lagoon and the rest well is now history. My "old man " said he seemed a nice guy and did however take down his reg which he is looking for. the only other info i have is that he drives a very old ,full of rust beetle and doesnt work at the water place as posted ealier.....

bottom line is that a lot more info should be availble about the person on his profile and if the person wants to remain anonymous then that info should be kept by admin so that we can visit these "little Fockers" that want to steal or cash. anyone can beat any system but if you want to buy or sell you have to make youself visible to all.................

ok just looked at the gumtree add and my wheels are on the bike he is selling so i can confirm that this is preston selling on gumtree.

ok so after 3 odd yrs and lots of sales and purchases am i about to donate R 1750.00 to the "Preston Luke Scott" fund............. hes had a set of wheels of mine from the 27th of Dec and i actually spoke to him this morning and he promised he was going to depost within the next hour??? However after logging onto the hub and reading the posts above i dont think i'm going to be that lucky now, am i ?? Anyway the hub is still a great place and i know that 99.9% of the hubbers out there are truly genuine and luckily 1 or 2 bad apples dont make for a bad harvest. chris give me a call on 0826282461 and we can chat. what isnt exspensive these days when something breaks???? i saw an earlier post where there was a comment on XT spoke prices and hub servicing so everyone to his own i suppose??? Tarmac might not like mavics but there are certainly many who do enjoy them and they do turn heads and get lots of looks??? SLR"S are certailny one of the best looking hoops out there???

CWC has them going for R 9k and ive got them on the hub for R 5950.00 ( 800kms) only. The wheels are awesome ,stiff, lightweight and very strong with no weight limit and trust me if i didnt have to i would never sell them. We all watch what the "big boys" ride and this is their wheel of choice, so at 2/3 rd's of the price cheers
