  1. On a serious not now - yes, militant vegans are very annoying, and I get that people get irritated by them. Same as Bible bashers, just don't force anything on anyone else. But can we at least all agree that trying to reduce the suffering of animals in this world is a good and admirable thing. I'm sure that following a vegan lifestyle (or even just 90%, or 50%) is not easy, and giving up food you love by making a conscious decision to not inflict pain and suffering on other beings is a good thing. I feel a lot of the hate geared towards vegans is uncalled for - what are you doing to lessen the suffering in this world?
  2. Looks like the stuff they make McChicken burgers out off. Very fitting for the thread.
  3. Don't be lazy, go read the rest of the thread.
  4. No, prove me wrong.
  5. Prove me wrong with your mentioned quote.
  6. To quote Eldron: "Being vegan is like being gay - it's a choice"
  7. The time has come when babies deserve to have a proper placenta and amniotic fluid in place, so they can feel safe and protected in the womb!!
  8. Ja, very funny! I was looking for a religion but then realised I'm not a sheep, so I went with thinking for myself instead. Classic. I agree with you on abortions, I dont like it one bit. So are you saying that it is wrong to take the life of an innocent being?
  9. With no butter.
  10. Which isn't what you said in your first post regarding this.
  11. Okay so is being gay a choice or not?
  12. Cant wait for this one.
  13. Ja, I agree, has to be decent. The Wimpy/Spur/Steer excuse for a patty is disgusting.
  14. And its not even Friday yet. Insane
  15. Try the Veggie patty at Roco Mamas, it's delicious.
  16. If he didn't need an e-bike, no one does.
  17. I mean threatening someone with death because they said they will "end" a dog.
  18. I liked this thread more when it was about killing dogs.
  19. Ok, so I have a new strategy that works well for me re the snake epidemic of apocalyptic proportions we are currently experiencing in Durbanville. Go early, like start at 5h30/06h00 - this helps with the snake spotting as they are obviously still having a lie in. Ride your planned route, and then head to Meerendal. Make sure to be there at just after 08h00, because that is when the Park Run starts. You might initially think this will be a hindrance, until you see the running clothes some of the participants run in. I've been hitting max speeds of 4km/h up a slight gradient, just couldn't get myself to pass. All in all, this ensured that I have had to only deal with one snake for the pas month or so. And thats cool, been dealing with him for years.
  20. Hahaha, I love theHub. You can start a topic on literally anything, and it will eventually turn into an argument that has nothing to do with the OP. This place is a gem.
  21. Unacceptable, but well done with keeping your cool. I probably wouldn't have been able to, and would've grabbed the nearest rock or piece of wood I can find, and made sure the dogs kept their distance.
  22. Coming from a long line of Karoo farmers I can just tell you that a dog can reach a certain point where his bad behavior becomes the norm for him, and that can not be changed. Having to shoot your own dogs due to them killing sheep, etc, is not a joke. A dog that attacks a human once I can maybe understand, but if it keeps happening that dog has a problem, and is a danger to society. Perhaps he then needs to be dealt with, I don't know.
  23. If a dog attacks me while on my bike I will do the same as when a Spaniel ran out of his gate a couple years back and bit my dog that was on a leash. I will get something to protect myself with, and he will eat a liquid diet for a couple of months. It is his owners responsibility to keep him from harm, by not letting him attack other people and animals. It is my responsibility to protect myself and my animals.
  24. Ja but thats assisted pedaling so it doesn't count. Also, are you allowed to wear lycra on an e-bike?
  25. Ok awesome, thanks for that. Will keep it in mind. I just don't know man, I feel it is a bit unnecessary to give be a dry bite, so biting me just for the case off biting. How about no. Just leave me alone. I once saw a molslang coming out of a hole in the ground at Meerendal, looked like a steel rod rising out of the ground, until I saw its tongue, and let me tell you this: there is no way that snake was more scared of me than I was of it. No way. I literally screamed like a girl, and started shaking on my bike. Absolutely kakked my bibs.
