  1. One for Miles. New Points Monitor does not allow the primary member, who pays the membership fee and stands to lose most, to view family member points. The option is greyed out. Disco says tough takkies, it's privacy regulations, nog al. Not once but in 2 separate emails. What privacy regulations exactly when I am the member and they are merely add ons?
  2. Small print geniuses. Insure the worst, card not so bad if you remember that the item you expect the cashback on cannot be more than the size of your feet divided by the girth of your wrist added to the length of your left ear minus the diameter of your big toe. To think I found Stats easy belies my ability to understand the terms and conditions. Avoid nasty cashback deficiencies by reading this: https://www.discovery.co.za/portal/individual/card-cash-back
  3. Well no. 2,700 points as you would have got 300 for going over 70% for > 90 minutes.
  4. Absolute rubbish. Both Polar and Garmin sync to Discovery within 5 minutes of loading anything on those 2 platforms. Points are normally allocated within 15 minutes. If you do a bigger workout that earns more points Discovery does that on the next sync. Edit: Picture evidence added.
  5. I never claimed when I was fat, lazy and drunk. And I never ended up in A&E. But being thin, fit and sober has cost them plenty. Skill levels clearly a problem.
  6. You are pretty confident that it's disinformation Miles. I am not that sure that it's not all about costs to Discovery. The continuing increases are not about health as it is ridiculous to keep increasing targets above what a person can achieve. If a person started at a 100 points target and bought a step counter or joined a gym and was active 5 days a week thus getting to 500 points it would be reasonable to increase their target to a max of 700. I say this as their history has shown they can only achieve 100 points a session. There is no way they can get more per session, based on history over a period of 12 weeks. Why penalise them by making them buy another device? So it is about smoothies as this person has improved by 600% in activity levels. Either the fitness bug will bite or it won't. But it is likely in human nature to be disincentivised if your target is unachievable. And that will backfire on Discovery.
  7. Auto fix as I did not accede to their request for screen shots. So stupid to ask us to send stuff in when they know they can fix it for everyone on their side. I don't think they have the sharpest guys working for them in IT.
  8. Believe what you will Myles. There is no misinformation being fed to me. I go to A&E involuntarily and need the best surgeon. He charges what he wants and I know I'm not covered for his full fees. But I choose him because he's the best, not some guy who accepts a third of the good guy's rate because it's my shoulder and I want it fixed properly. But to reject R158 on a bill of over R100k. Just silly. A screw used in my shoulder cost R 4027.4 another R3,221.92 and a few R805. They were used because the surgeon said so. He also said I need an ice pack. On the PMB, I personally have spent time on the phone to Disco, logged 2 separate queries, sat with the accounts department at the physio, watched the submission and received the rejection. Now, as a CA I'd reckon I would understand the submission process in terms of the PMB. But no. The delay in payments is just petty. They owe the money, they are just trying to weasel out of paying. As for the PMB, I'm entitled to a repair for a complex shoulder injury that involves the clavicle, scapula and glenoid. I get a PMB just for the clavicle. Because they do not want to pay. Same thing with not syncing workouts done. Not even raising the issue of getting people to commit to watches then changing the points allocation system because they can ito the fine print. When they stop allocating points for legal workouts what hope is there? I'm surprised you can't see the behavioural link on the part of the 5 companies within the Discovery platform. Promise and contract to something then don't deliver. Do I want to risk the future of my children and their education in the event of my death to this risk?
  9. Not moaning about points allocation, just that they are not allocating points I earned. No Miles. They deliberately try avoid paying out on medical. Just like they don't allocate points on VAR. I had a crash. Covered the hospital except for R158 for an ice pack used post surgery in hospital for swelling. Petty. I applied for a PMB for physio. Applied for 20 sessions. Approved 12. I've had 28 sessions till today and need ongoing treatment. Although they approved the PMB, they have rejected every bill as submitted by the physio. They have been submitted EXACTLY as approved. So the physio has not been paid since March 12 by Disco despite the approvals given and I've had to pay to continue the treatment. All the best doctors have opted out of Disco so the medical aid covers between a third to a half of the cost of an operation. None of this bothered me until they did not allocat points for 3 workouts and I've thought about my relationship with them. Now I'm irritated.
  10. Did I drink smoothies or coffee before I got them for free? No, so not a benefit. No gym booster for me, gym is free and has always been. No idea what that's worth. I average just under R800 a month cash back, have for years. All of which I got before this clusterf_ck of VAR came around. But is it worth sending screen shots of my workouts to get 2 smoothies? My opinion is no. I signed up for a programme, I do my bit, they must do theirs. Simple really. I load Polar or Garmin where I must, they must read the files and allocate points. How is that hard to understand?
  11. It's one company Miles and how they do the little things reflects on their core business. I am a customer of Discovery. Not a customer of 3 separate parts of Discovery. Not once in this thread have I moaned about VAR points allocations or "subject to changes" but when they can't do the simple things like read a file synced from Garmin and Polar and allocate me the points, then ask for screen shots I start to question their willingness to meet obligations. My weekly interaction with Discovery is on VAR, not life or medical aid. VAR is what forms my perception of the company. You are saying it's unreasonable to question their commitments based on this perception. I'll be dead so can't fight them if they don't honour their commitments which is my perception right now based on their incompetence displayed in this programme.
  12. Natively or did you send screen shots? Mine not showing but I won't send screen shots.
  13. I have no problem with the system. I have a serious problem when I comply and they do no. If I load my workouts on Polar and or Garmin and I don't get points allocated and then I get a mail to send screen shots? I'm not desperate to give my kids the smoothie vouchers. But I do question what happens when I'm dead and they don't pay out my life policy. If they can't honour their commitment to sync with Garmin and Polar how much confidence do I have that they'll pay out my kids if I was to die?
  14. They are aware, phoned me yesterday. It's posted on the site hidden under device issues. If you look hard enough you can find it. Rather than posting under rewards or vitality known issues.
  15. Response to mail sent to escalations about missing polar and garmin recorded workouts received from fitnessdevices@discovery.co.za: Thank you for your email regarding your points not pulling through. Please send us the screenshots of workouts in question so we can investigate your query and allocate points for qualifying workouts. We require the screenshots that include the following: DatesType of eventDurationHeart rate, speed, distance, etc.Ensure the date appears in full and not only the day of the week. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. I said no, if you stop wasting time requesting data to fix individual errors and just fix the feed you would not have queries like this. I'm over this rewards programme now. And when my life payout matures in September I think I'll be over Discovery completely.
  16. Awesome ride in the rain today. But I've got to say that as the rain changed the view I've endured for the past 3 months only slightly. Still, the darkness made the bottom screen with Justified clearly visible.
  17. Have you checked your unotelly account has credit? They normally give 30 days so you need to renew. Netflix no longer works on unotelly.
  18. The saddest day was when my 305 started having problems with the connection to the battery and would die mid ride. Tried to fix it but no luck so got a 500. Not nearly as useful IMHO. Polar 725X is great unit, I gave up on it when the strap started playing up. Would not buy a unit now that does not have BLE or ANT+ connectivity. But at end of the day get the unit you like, some women prefer tall skinny guys and some prefer tall well built guys. It's personal preference, not right or wrong.
  19. Wow, you know my name. That must have exercised your brain. Pity it doesn't extend to reading and comprehending what people post. He NEVER said he had a HRM. EVER.
  20. Why would we assume reading the thread before posting is the standard? Rad clearly stated he does not have a HRM and doesn't want to buy one.....oh dear.
  21. Here, for all you whingers: http://www.rdm.co.za/business/2016/05/30/discovery-vitality-backtracks-on-apple-deal
  22. Gee it is harder reading the whinging on this thread than actually getting the target. Having said that I did miss for 6 weeks after breaking my clavicle, scapula and glenoid but I can live with that since I joined VAR back in November. Maybe due to that injury I'm only on 600. And I don't belong to a gym so can't swipe. But it's always done by Sunday lunch.
