  5. have you measured the wheel circumference ? what is the ratio 2:2 you refer to ? im just interested in how guys decide on the gearing
  6. Pity you guys arent on proper bikes. What speed will you be doing at 100 rpm ? edit : meters travel per minute : x = (32/15)*2*pi*(wheel diameter/2)*100 km per hour = x*60/1000 should be right. 29er tyre diameter around 680mm ? 100 rpm on 32/15 is +-27km/h 110 rpm about 30km/h
  7. hehe very cool. like the end where he stroke the cat

  10. I definitely do not want to say anything to deter you and you are probably right that there are reasons you do not loose easily at this stage in you mission. What you have and are achieving is no easy feat and believe me I am 100% sincere in saying that. If you can train 8 hours a week and hydrate sufficiently and after 2 weeks you do not loose then you take too much in. What you take it may be right/wrong but what ever it is, it is too much. You can do it smart and try and look at what and how you eat or you can cut the amount you take in.
  11. I am definitely a candidate for this sound advise
  12. Sure as hell you are entitled to your opinion and mine is also an opinion. The point I am trying to make is that when you are 20kg's over weight and you want to loose weight then it is simple. You can not train 8 hours a week, limit your intake and not loose weight. It is impossible, not maybe impossible, it is impossible. Even at 59kg you can loose weight by limiting intake, but you'll probably end up in a hospital bed. This is where the part of being smarter comes in. The difference is that when you are over weight there is a lot less chemistry involve and a lot more perseverance.
  13. I think it is "simple"... hard and harder for some, but simple
  14. Last time I looked at images of concentration camps I didn't see any one who's body went into 'storage mode' and didn't loose weight. I know, stupid and extreme example, but as far as I am concerned all the diets and advice is effective or controlled ways of losing weight. Cut the crap and eat less and do more the softer measures is to do it smarter.
  15. Quite a detailed reply to a blunt statement. Thanks. There are so many things at work that can be considered and obviously a better/healthier way of doing things than just limiting intake. Unfortunately no matter how complicated it can be it can also be simple. Many times 'hunger' is like turning off the lights and just seeing black. Its your reference that need to change and some conditioning.
  16. It is actually as simple as calorie in calorie out. Its called conservation of mass. You will lose something, may not be fat but you will loose weight.
  17. This is the harsh reality. Starve yourself
