  1. What store did the work on this wheel? Did they tighten them to the correct tension?
  2. Whats the story behind this then?
  3. Sorry Flea. We dont have any info on the next one in JHB yet. Bicycling runs the show. If we do get any info ahead of time, we have to wait for them to release it first anyway. Ghostface2009-05-19 02:51:20
  4. Glad to hear that. We (Giant) are sending down some great bikes for you guy & gals to test out.
  5. That's a perfectly functional ninja star. You could get good money for that on "the flats".
  6. LOL. Too true.
  7. What happened? I was enjoying this thread.
  8. Skateboarders over 10yrs old dont wear pads. You can't have skulls all over your board, shoes and t-shirt and then have knee pads on. Finding adult size protection pads is real hard. Dont shell out major money either as she'll use them twice and get over the worrying and not need them again. the Fox shop at Canal Walk has Knee/Shin combo pads that aren't too much.
  9. On the Giants it's called "Overdrive" and the forks are just called "1 1/8 inch - 1/14 inch tapered". It's only a mattrer of time before some r&d guys all get together at a expo/trade show and come up with a cool name.
  10. Update: After qualifying in 3rd, Greg finished off with a 6th place in the final. He beat some of the best BMX street riders in the world today and put SA on the world BMX map again. Awesome work and Facebook status' have been spreading the congrats all weekend.
  11. OK. I just bought some Plastic pegs for my BMX, from a mail order in the US. Was charged R574.56 total incl shipping via USPS. How much am I going to pay at the post office to get my stuff? Just 14% or is it 10% + 14%?
  12. I think Greg's brother, Brad, is sometimes on here. Brad rocks on a BMX too. Both great guys.
  13. Links fixed. Sorry.
  14. Yep. This news won't hit any local newspapers or make it on to SA tv but I think it is great exposure for SA cycling anyway. Local freestyle BMX rider Greg Illingworth of www.theriot.co.za bike shop in Jhb is competing in the Asian X-games this weekend! He competed last year and got 10th overall, even after braking his chain and riding his heat chainless, and is looking to do better this time around. Greg is pretty much the best Freestyle BMX rider in SA and it's great to see him making it overseas again and representing SA on this level. Jumping the gun there a little? As I'm the only employee of Dragons that is on the Hub, purely for my own entertainment, I'd like to say: The wheels are in customs andshouldl be released to us next week. With the elections next week, the large number of wheels being replaced and the amount of paper work involved, they will still be a little way off but will be sent out ASAP. Lets not have everyone yelling "give me my damn wheels" etc. There are protocols and steps that must be taken to ensure it all runs smoothly. This is a big undertaking. I hope you understand. I am a very junior employee here and cant/will not go into any details about my job/Dragons/Mavic/Giant. I hope you understand that too.
  17. wow. That must have been hit pretty hard to fracture up the down tube like that.
  18. Post pic's of the crack. You wont.
  19. True. That looks like a hit from something. not a crack from fatigue. I really dont see the advantage of a Carbon Full Suss. road bikes it's fine but MTB ???? Good if you're sponsored or "wealthy". (Chris Rock reference)
  20. If you got to the international or US sites you will see that Giant didnt stop making composite Anthems at all. They just arent part of the Australian lineup which is where SA pick their range. Edit: Didnt realize you were talking about the Anthem X. Sorry.Ghostface2009-04-15 03:18:45
  21. normally 3.5cm from centre of spindle to centre of pin hole. pin hole is oval though so give or take 2mm. Some cranks are not that well checked in QC and can vary quite abit.
  22. Buy shimano 2200.
