  2. Good chance they have sent it to the GT agent first, who should then send it to us.
  3. Noted. If the fork is sent into us at Dragons Sports (we are the agents for SR-Suntour forks) it will be sorted out as soon as possible. The total time you might be without the fork depends on how long it takes to get to us. We try to be pretty quick. Can't tell whats wrong right now untill we see he fork

I work for Dragons Sports. I don't think you'll find anyone bringing in the colour cables. The minimum orders that have to be placed with Taiwan/China are usually pretty large, takes ages to get shipped over to here and usually don't sell that well or fast enough. Smaller "niche" items like this are always hard to find. Alligator is your best bet for colour cable and they are pretty good. They are on TheHub somewhere, so someone should have their details.

I never said we were the Jagwire agents. I said our Giant branded cables are made by Jagwire. 7. If this guy is going to ride the bike hard and put it through it's paces, he should ride a Trance X (or similar "Trail" bike) as apposed to an Anthem X. He'll have way more fun on that, than a XC machine. Besides, if he rides MX and is used to going fast, doing gaps and not stopping for anything thats in his way, Balls-to-the-wall style, then he needs to get a bike that suits that type of mindset, a trail bike. IMO, I think he might pull a XC bike through it's ass.

Sorry but we only do the black. Giant does not offer the colour cables as after market items.

  10. Morning. Yep it's 165. If it's "stuck down" you'll have to send it in to Fox and get it serviced. Your LBS should be able to take the shock out and send it away for you. Do it ASAP as with all the races and the Argus coming up, most distro's crazy busy. We are.
  11. Nah, you guys are right. I rechecked over the weekend. Don't know why I thought otherwise. Sorry.
  12. Do you have anything to back this claim up. How many frames need to crack to be put in the "rice cakes" catagory? When the first Giant ONCE's came out I bought one. It cracked at the chainstay after a few months. After that I had another 3 with the same issue' date=' Dragons admitted that there is a problem with the frame. I then received the upgraded frame that lasted for years. Im actually giving praise to good service, so get off your bloody horse.[/quote'] Ok. I'm not clued up with road cycling from that time. The first Once's were late 1990's early 2000's.
  13. Do you have anything to back this claim up. How many frames need to crack to be put in the "rice cakes" catagory? I'm not denying that some frames do crack, Xl more than any other size ( might be the extra torque from larger/heavier bodies on longer seat posts. I'm no engineer). I, personaly, don't believe this to be a design fault, which was the reason for this thread being started.
  14. Also at Pappa Bear, I've been informed that we sent you a replacement main frame at a really good price and you refused it. "The South African Consumer Protection Act makes it unlawful for the manufacturer to refuse a non-modification related guarantee." Bikes aren't guaranteed.
  15. At Holy, We unloaded two containers this week and sent out Anthem X ADV SL 0's to a few shops along with Anthem X and Trance X bikes. We also got in TCR's and a range of frames. If you have inside info on a companies stock holdings, I think you should keep it to yourself, don't you? Especialy if it is outdated. At Pappa Bear, I have already replied to your PM and given you the details to follow. Also you frame was repainted and no bicycle company covers resprayed or modified frames.
  16. You do know that you can't take a BMX chain at fit it to a crankset of a road or MTB bike? It will only fit over about 20 teeth of a 48 blade and then start to run out of allingment with the other teeth. (It might work ok on some smaller blades but will cause loads of wear and tear) Therefore, if i'm not mistaken, the length between pins on a BMX chain is not the same as a road/MTB chain. If they where, then the chain would fit all the way around the blade.
  17. BMX/single speed chain has a different pitch to a road chain. You can't interchange them. It you have a front blade that takes a BMX chain then you have to have the same on the pitch on the rear.
  18. Not going to guess on this one. We will have stock in a couple of weeks and as soon as I have a frame in my hands, I'll weigh it and let you know. A quick search puts the ADV SL at 900g, but you know how it goes, some companies weigh their frames/bikes without seatpost, clamp, bolts, paint, XS size etc
  19. http://chrisking.com/headsets/hds_inset Just checked the Chrisking site and NO! that Inset won't work on a Giant road frame. The inset is a "semi intergrated" headset for MTB bikes, where the Giant Road bikes take a "fully intergrated" headset. The site acutally has a photo of a Giant Anthem frame with the Inset fitted. Here is a fully intergrated headset: http://www.trailheadcycles.com/cache/www.wiggle.co.uk_images_hope-integrated-headset.jpg And here is the semi intergrated headset: http://assets1.bikepimp.co.uk/system/files/products/0609/4508/giant_xtc_headset_large.jpg Very different indeed. (The 2009 onwards takes a tapered headset with 1 /18 and 1 /14 bearings)Ghostface2010-02-05 02:25:00
  20. Why start a new thread? TCR ADVANCED TECH: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-in/technology/advanced/28/ TCR ADVANCED SL TECH: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-in/technology/advanced/27/ Different grade Composite raw material and different weave. Also the frames have a totaly different construction at the toptube and seat tube junction. This adds to the performance of the frame and the "ride". Ghostface2010-02-04 09:44:18

  22. Yes it is. It is just has a "deeper" clamping area and comes with more spacers allowing for more height adjustability. Some people who had the older 07/08 frames cut the seatpost down to suit their riding style/size (as you are supposed to) and then had problems when it came to selling them to other/taller riders. With the new clamp, the chances that the post being too short for another rider,is minimized. Ghostface2010-02-04 09:47:36
  23. We only seem to have requests for either a well priced Composite frame or the top level performance frames. With the new seatpost clamp, that gives much more adjustability once the post is cut than the 2008 models, the ISP frames are being quite well received.
