  1. If Enduro make them, then Rush should be able to import them. http://www.rushsports.co.za/Brands/Enduro_Bearings.aspx
  2. Thats a "DV8" model, so the price is ok. It's silver with a red fork and red stickers.
  3. That price is way out! The "DV8" bike with the bulkier frame, gyro and pegs should be around R1295.00. They are Blue/White or Silver/Red. I think something has the wrong price sticker on or the names (Domin8 , DV8) are causing some confusion.
  4. You can get an Avlanche Domin8 BMx bike for around R989.00 in Black or Purple/White. This is a nice entry level bike with racing and dirt jumping in mind. This has a slightly shorter toptube for the younger riders (I'm not sure the age you are looking for but this is for kids from 9 to 13). Most younger kids can't ride BMX bikes because the frames are too big and heavy. I designed this bike to be small, compact and light. Also has good V-brakes for brakes that work. http://avalanchebicycles.co.za/bicycles/bmx/domin8/ Most kids ask for Pegs and Gyro but to be honest, the pegs weigh a ton and the gyro's offer the ability to spinn the bars but reduce braking by at least 50% and normally break after a couple of weeks anyway.
  5. You should look at you local Giant dealer. They should have as Giant do a few bikes in XS (14in).
  6. the Mavic bearings have a 3degree of play built into the bearing. This allows for the slight forces from side to side placed on the wheel while riding. If you use "off the shelf" bearings you will ovalize the area that holds the bearings and damaged the hub. Not adjusting the play of the QRM+ system is also the reason why some bearing fail before others. Proper maintainance = longer lasting parts. http://dragonsza.blogspot.com/2009/08/mavic-qrm-adjustment-explained.html Go here to find out how to adjust the play.
  7. I am gonna take it further !! You can make ANY rim tubeless ' date=' some just takes more time and effort . [/quote'] You may be right but that does not mean that it is recommened.
  8. I've seen rims, both Mavic and other brands (alex etc) that have leaked and/or split due to the sealant getting into the inner layer of the rim and "corroding" the pins and the rim "pops" open at the seam. If you want hassle free riding then buy the right tool for the right job. Flame away.
  9. I don't know about the tyres but it's well know that you should not do a tubeless conversion of any kind on a rim that is not welded at the seam (Mavic's process is called SUP). Using a rim that is "pinned" or "sleeved" could cause the rim to fail or for conversions not to work. The XM317 is "pinned". (gets ready for someone to say "I've used 317's and they work fine....")
  10. Deodorant spray works really well.
  11. Terrible news. Condolences to Bruce and the family.
  12. Haha. I ate the Shark. It was at the Giant dinner party with all the heads of Giant and the other world regions. I didn't want to insult anyone, so I ate everything.
  13. Follow the link to some photos from 2010 Taipei Cycle Show in Taiwan http://dragonsza.blogspot.com/2010/03/2010-taipei-cycle-show.html
  14. I saw (cranks like) these at the Taipei cycle show last week at some "no name" stand. They where attached to some "hypermarket" bike. I understand the idea behind the design but really think it's trying to fix a problem that doesn't really exist. Plus they look funny. edit; put in (text).Ghostface2010-03-24 02:25:50
  15. no sorry it's 35mm down by the FD. The tcr's should all take a "plate" for a braze on FD.
  16. I just measured some '08 and '09 TCR Composite frames and they are 31mm.
  17. Is that as close as the paying riders got?
  18. Suntour fork! Ferrari knows whats good.
  19. I believe it is an "OEM" fork. It's only maunfactured for complete bikes market. It's not availible as an aftermarket fork. It's not even in the catalouge or on the website.
  20. We are quietly growing. http://dragonsza.blogspot.com/2009/12/sr-suntour-in-stock.html (some photos aren't correct) We now also have Epicon 29er and the Axon ELD (Electronic Lockout) in stock. There will be a review on this in the press soon. This is tunring into a hijack. Sorry.
  21. HAHA. I'm not getting into a Suntour Vs Rockshox Vs Fox Vs ....debate. Everyone will give you a different answer and I might be seen as biased too. I'm just saying that Suntour is good, way better than most riders think and easy to service. You'd have to ask some reputable mechanics, which I'm not, about which is "better" and obivously compare apples to apples. Don't ask the sales guys, go ask the guy with the apron, tools and the grease.
  22. Well, we took over the agency for SR-Suntour late last year and I can say that there are no forks that are easier to service that Suntour. Most parts are interchangable between models and turnaround time on repairs and servicing is getting better and better as we get to grips with the new products. Suntour makes great forks and quite a few of the Euro riders at PMB last year were on Suntour. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to stear you away from the 'goose, I'm just adressing the LBS sales guys knowledge if "X" Vs "Y".
