Prices are too high in general or too high for what you want/must have?

Every week the same thing. Go look at the $ prices on the net and then say that the local prices are high. They are mostly the same (give or take 5% or so) as the $ prices. This is how much bikes cost. If you think your LBS is ripping you off/cant afford what you want, then go buy it off the net/second hand/back of a truck and stop whining. I agree that bikes arent cheap but startin a thread about this every week will get you guys nowhere. This isnt a new thing, Bikes are expensive and they'll just get worse. Start saving now if you want/have to have a '10 bike.

Conti make trainer tyres. Not cheap but designed for the job at hand. Tyres should be pretty hard. What's the instruction manual say?

Every time I see a Whasp sticker or product, I'll think of this thread.

you have to do what some kids call a "pigeon hop" where you lift the front wheel real high and then pull the rear up with your legs. Dont just try pull the whole bike up in one motion.

Remember them old Styrafoam "surfboards" you used to get for swimming pools and what happened to them is left in the sun for too long? Things just got to brittle and turned to dust. They loose their "flex" and just snap. Same thing with a helmet. Never mind what the Sweat/Acid does to the things. 6 years? Get a new one.

If you leave your helmet in the sun or in your car alot then it might not be a strong as it was. Might become brittle and "turn to dust" on a crash. If my helmetwas more than 3 years old, I consider getting a new one.
