Does any one know in Jhb North where one can get a XTR bleed kit and what oil, I decided I doing the bleed my self from now on.

Any one want to take my old clear tape off and put new neatly and use thicker grade pm me. Happy to pay for a pro job.

Nothing racist. I just seen the same melt down in other country's on this continent and it SA has the symptoms of the slow illness. SA has many remarkable points and truly great wonderful people of all races. My point is at government. Do derail that or throw the race card in to negate facts often hard to accept. EPIC , Cape pioneer and the Trans African travers ,across South Africa. For proper riders. The other races are fantastic as a great sport hobby trails. Ideal for the majority that train four times a week and ride FOR FUN. And if you are in not in the top 50 your testing your self and your buddy's only. To me that's sounds like real fun. But don't kid your selves. The top 50 are the snakes. The rest .... We kid our selves. But its real fun. Can't get enough. But I to would shy away from riding at 42-48c I to must be a sissy. Clever me never.

ASG IS NOT INVESTING IN CYCLING , THEY INVESTING IN THERE OWN BUSINESS. IT'S 100% money making. I think a proper company doing races could bring entry's down to half, increase the safety and have better water tables and properly better prizes. ASG are just spongeing on Cycling. But a lot are wishing up.... They need to REALLY ,,,, REALLY start giving back or they lose support.

XX1 is a load of crap based on my own personal experiences and my friends who share the same tears. It's a very simple deduction, about 20 hard core MTB. I the least hard core and all know that SRAM is not great, its finicky and wears out fast. But as I said you got cash to burn, you got your mechanic and happy to have parts replaced go for it. But my Shimano is real stuff ,not crapy marketing clever promises gearing. Just bomb proof stuff. Had XX1 - got Shimano and happy. Who's to ridicule me, who is to say I don't know better? These are my hands on experiences. Not speculation. And one more thing my buds have been telling me about the service of agents in Jhb ,well that sealed it for me. SHIMANO

Only issues noted, water, electrical field from power lines and chemicals in food.

With tears in my eyes - for your own sake and your riding -go only Shimano. Unless you happy to sit fiddling and replacing parts every few months. Unless - you a pro with backup mechanic , I sure you be fine.

Does any one know how to get these brakes to work like Shimano with out having to replace them with Shimano? My brakes are not sharp, like my old Shimano. ( its got nothing to do with levers. ) Any proven advice would be well received.

Get some police reservist to ride there for a few weeks. These days one needs to carry a Uzzi to be safe. What a great country plagued by crime and poor policing and a inadequate violent criminal system. I don't have the answers, but I heard of two high jackers some months back near Northans farms Jhb getting some of their own back by a irate victim who shot them. They lived but won't try this trick again . This set the recored right for locals who now now it not worth it for a bike! Good news like this spreads fast in community's that have criminals amongst them selves and turn the other way..

Ok, I was exactly like you but reasonably good with technical. Hated being locked in. I moved to Crank Brothers mallets. Clip in on smooth climbs and downs. Click out on the hard stuff. Best of both worlds. The new 2013 mallets ,,not the 2012 are what u need . Don't let them fool you look up the shape of the 2013 ones. I ordering a new pair in month when they hit the stores in the USA or uk u welcome to join u order.

Another savage kills one of our country's champs. Government (more like clowns) should bring law to the taxis. But they just don't have the mental capacity and are incapacitated to do this. They rather have their voters sit in the taxis and pray for their lives.. They rather have their families drive in larger cars to be better protected against a Taxi accident. Africa is plagued by the lack of thinking forward.

I was happy with some good polarized and my friends were wearing Rudy's , I know they meant well and suggested these, I splashed out for the top of range with another set of lenses. Sorry - but I have to tell you how I feel about them. Hear goes. Way way way over priced for what you get. Under perform. I am delighted that a two new pairs of reasonably priced glasses are on their way from the U-S-A. I hope some one that's looking for a nice pair of NAME brand Rudy glasses will buy my kit as less 50%to what I paid... .. .. They even wobble of my face when going down hill on hard bumpy terrain , the others did not. My eyes take great strain. The polarized lenses for me protect my eyes from harsh SA sun better. My eyes are not red after a 65 km ride. I some times fell when you spent a bomb on something you do not want to accept that what you have got is not as good as you like it to be so you defend the product. I am not like that with these glasses... Do you homework.

If any lucky locals who live in this incredible part of South Africa can kindly advise, names of some (safe) trails and where they start in the Plettenberg bay and surrounding area within say 50 km. I don't mind paying a entrance fee. Any info on the trials and how hard they and how long the trails are would be great. Also advise if kids friendly, ie. jeep tracks. Thank you in advance.

Can any one verify the story I heard today while riding at Modderfontain. Sand road next to Northern Farms. I was told a man with his wife was rinding and two locals attacked them with guns. It was his second hijacking so was carrying a firearm. He threw his bike at the criminals. They ducked and he managed to shoot both of them. The criminals fled the scene alive but shot. I would be pleased to hear this is in fact true, as its time the criminals get justice.

You can do the following - Place a pic of him and your bike on ,junkmail , gum tree and others with reward. Email the pic to every police station in the area and fax it to them with a reward. Also get hold of the crime line tv and get hold of crime line. That's a very clear pic, some one will know him. Good luck and follow through with the case if he's caught.
