  1. Hey guys. Building a new bike and my rear brake line is JUST too short. Can’t seem to find stock of a new hydraulic line anywhere including online. Anyone perhaps have one I could buy or know where I could get one? Thanks
  2. Thanks for the offer it’s much appreciated but I think I’ll just give them a skip. Not really riding anything too hectic but am getting some new wheels so thought the protection would be wise. I’ll just take the “old man” line and save myself and my rims some grief 🤣
  3. Great. Thanks for the input. “Old man decisions” are the way too go! 🤣🤣. This old man agrees…
  4. Anyone had any experience with their Foamo inserts? worth it for aluminium rims?

  6. Apologies if this has been asked previously but I'm looking for some info on Superboost wheels/hubs... I am looking at an MTB frame upgrade and it has a Superboost rear... What are my options? From Google I see that there is a "Problemsolvers" kit that will convert boost to superboost but costs around R1k to get here. Is there any local alternative? Superboost hubs also seem extremely difficult to find locally. Advice appreciated - thanks
  7. I have a Maxxis Highroller that has the same issue. Also checked my wheel and it was fine. Been riding it like that for ages now with no issues. Just looks odd...
  8. Elands River is beautiful but just gravel no single track.
  9. You can ride about 15km quite safely alone. I have been riding in Baakens Valley for about 20years without a single incident. Happy to show you around if it’s after work hours
  10. These are the Crossways trails: https://3riverstrails.co.za/
  11. Crossways is definitely worth the drive... some FANTASTIC trails and a lekka coffee shop as well
  12. Also stayed with same # of teeth (32T)
  13. Initial impressions of the oval are positive. I'm no expert - more of an avid weekend warrior who enjoys the technical stuff. After a short ride (and this may just be all the marketing hype I read about) I must say really enjoyed it. Felt very "efficient" - like the power was exactly where it was suppose to be (no dead spots). Technical climbs that I've been riding for years seemed easier (by about 10%) and didn't feel much leg fatigue. Again, just some uneducated feedback, but doubt I'd go back to a round chainring. Hope that helps
  14. So Oval chainring arrived yesterday, fitted and test rode. Definitely quieter and smoother so old one must have been worn. Not impressed at all with the SRAM quality. Only lasted about 900km. Bought a CSIXX one which they say should last like 5000km so we will see
  15. OK so just an update for posterity's sake - someone might find it useful. My mate (who use to own a bike shop) suggested that I sand down the chainring. He said that sometimes little buhrs develop. I did this, gave the chain another degreasing and there was no grinding noise on my ride yesterday. Worth a try if you are struggling with with this.
  16. I’ve ordered a new oval one. Been wanting to try one so now is as good a time as any I guess ????????
  17. eish - really trying to avoid this. Chainring is about 800km old
  18. Not yet - will give that a go
  19. Hey Hubbers - looking for some advice.... This is my current setup: SRAM GX 12sp Cassette & Rear DR, Sram Gold chain, NX Crank with 32t 94bcd chainring (all were new and put on at same time) Bikeshop said I should look at replacing chain soon so I bought a new GX chain and fitted it myself. According to chain check tool, hadn't reached 0.75 wear yet (i know 0.5 is best for 12speed chains). Since replacing (2 rides old) - there is a grinding noise in the larger gears (2-3 top gears) when chain is under tension (so short sharp climbs). Nothing much in lower gears. I have tried the following: - checked that I fitted chain correctly (through DR and also that masterlink is facing right direction) - degreased and lubed chain - even checked my BB as the cup on the drive side looked like it had moved out a bit Only option now is to replace the chainring (which I really don't want to have to do) - any suggestions before I go that route? Does the chain need to "bed in at all"? TIA
  20. Ja also very concerned about the linkage bolts... Those titainium from Burgtec are hellishly expensive. Seems like it's a common problem for all their bikes
  21. Loving my Evil Following V1. Upgraded fork to Ohlins 140mm and I'm in heaven!!
  22. You can never have enough red... LOL
  23. Awesome bike!! I have a Following and absolutely LOVE IT!! These Evil's just fit so well. Had a guy describe the fit like sliding into an old pair of wooly slippers... LOL - he was right!
  24. Evil Following V1 going strong. Just put a new Ohlins 140mm Fork on her and its such a blast! Also just bought a set of Guide RSC brakes (second hand) to replace the weak little Level's that came on her.
  25. Looking for SRAM Brake lever clamps for Level or Guide brakes if anyone has a set lying in their spares box?
