  1. Thanks for the tip but surely this would 'elevate' the cleat even more and cause the movement to increase?
  2. Yes, pedals are new
  3. Sorry, maybe I should clarify a bit. It's not the float thats the issue is the 'up and down' movement if that makes sense. So without moving my feet in a clockwise/anti-clockwise direction (ie still), my shoes rock in the pedals. Hope that makes sense...
  4. This was my first thought as the tension was at its loosest. I adjusted the tension to make a bit firmer but the play is still there
  5. Just changed my pedals from Crank Bros to Shimanos and I've noticed there is a lot of lateral (side to side) play now once clipped in. Local Bike Shop reckons it's because my shoes (not a few years old) have worn down so there's now no contact with pedals (ie only the cleats are in contact with the pedals and not the shoe). Does this sound logical? Never noticed anything with the Crank Bros.. Any other suggestions? Thanks
  6. Hi Guys, I've started reading through this forum but you'll have to forgive me if this question has been asked before. I'm looking for some longterm feedback on the carbon full-suspension 29er. Looking at the 'Titan' from Carbonality or the frame from Hong-fu. Any issues on the pivots/bearings? General comfort and ride quality, etc? Thanks for the help!
  7. Thanks for the replies. Reviews on the frame look pretty good - just a bit concerned about the lack of a warranty. Any thoughts on the geometry of the bike paired with a 120mm fork? Looking for a 'do-it-all' kinda bike for marathons and the odd technical ride.
  8. Does anyone have any experience with Titus bikes? Cam across this as a frameset and it looks pretty good: http://www.titusti.com/bikes/trail/ftm-carbon/ Planning on using it as an all-round bike (stage races, technical riding, etc) and the reviews seem pretty positive. Any thoughts on Titus as a brand and the bike? Thanks
  9. Anyone fitted a Monarch RT3 to their Spark?
  10. I have the Buzzrack Quattoro and works quite well. Fitted 4 bikes on it. Bought from Barry at Rack and Carry - very good service. Plus the Buzzracks have a 5year guarantee. Had a problem with the clamps after 18 months and there are replacement parts in the post.
  11. This was the model before they introduced the 3-stage lockout. Only the top-end bikes came with it
  12. Do you find that you need to 'play' with the 3 settings quite a bit (like I'm having to with the remote)? Or do you just leave it in the ProPedal setting and only change for big climbs or descents?
  13. Thanks for all the suggestions.. to answer some of the comments: - it doesn't have the CTD shock so it's only got the Full open or lock - I've tried playing with the pressures and the rebound but maybe I need to ge the LBS to help set it up
  14. Any other suggestions?
  15. It's defintely only got the 2 settings.
  16. Ja, been trying to play around with the settings and they seems a bit better but not fantastic.
  17. Hi Guys, I have a Scott Spark Elite 29". Enjoy the bike but the more I ride it the more I'm coming to dislike the limited suspension settings. It's the Twinloc with the Full Open or Full lockout so when it's open there's a lot of pedal bob. Find that when riding on uneven terrain the open is too open and the lock is too stiff. Was thinking of upgrading the rear shock to a Fox RP23 or Monarch RT3 (both with the pro-pedal type middle setting). Any suggestions or comments? Done a bit of reading and it seems that the change would eliminate most of the need for the remote lockout lever. Thought maybe I could just leave it on for the front shock? Thanks
  18. How far do you guys ride and at what avg speed? Please add me to your Whatsapp group. Cell no is 0824154994 Thanks
  19. Looks like we just sneaked in
  20. Anyone have any inside news on whats happening with the entries? Are they likely to open up a few more spots?
  21. Apparently it has got something to do with the pivot and the bearings seizing. Probike are aware of it - advised my LBS to tell clients to keep it greased/lubricated (?) etc. I'm not too clued up on the technical stuff but thats what I was told. Have a 2012 Spark Elite
  22. I have both the TT Versiona and the Peak (MTB) and they are fantastic! IMSA & Transbaviaans with no hassles. Quick Tip: try tightening a cable tie around the rails right at the front of the saddle - it pulls the two 'prongs' slightly closer together and makes for a much more comfortable ride.
  23. Used 32gi for Transbaviaans this year and worked like a charm. Their 'Endure' range is really good and the taste is not too sweet. Combined with some 'real food' it works well. Have also used Hammer but their products are really pricey...
  24. It clips out. You need to squeeze the sides together to get it to unclip - then use like a bottle. It's not the best system and the guys at the LBS are wondering why Felt made it like that. It's a great idea but not very well executed... Hope that helps
  25. Thanks for the advice. Will normal socks be ok if you change into dry ones after Bergplaas?
