Aaah okay - stunning bike - keep us updated. I went from a 26 to a 29 but a hardtail ( Flash ) and always wondered if I should have kept my 26 and converted to a 650. But I am enjoying my Flash, maybe as I am tall and better suited to a 29er.

Cannondale alu is the way to go. Their 29er geometry is dialed in and what many people don't realize they were the first mainstream bike manufacturer to start making alu bikes so have years of experiece with it. Have owned both Giant and Cannondale alu MTBs and you cannot compare the ride quality. Currently own a Cannondale Carbon 29er and have not been able to break it - they build them tough.
