  1. Would be interesting to see who out of the Hub will actually back up MTBaaisikilist with regards to the ban and paying back funds etc and who thinks he should just suffer the consequences? I say it again, it ALL comes down to motive. Yes, unfortunately there is a contract signed so legally the court can fine MTBaaisikilist but that doesn't necessarily mean what they doing is right. Makes me wonder if I ever really do want to get back into the sport. I think UCI is now seriously over-reacting to a problem and not actually solving any part of the real problem.
  2. Not anymore, don't even have a gym contract. The only lifting I do is a 3 year old girl. Actually do bootcamp type stuff at home these days and a cycle when I am allowed free of my chain .
  3. This is a very difficult topic but maybe you need to differentiate between the pro's and non-pro's. Everyone in the tour is making a living from cycling, not everyone in the Epic is, they paid a fortune to be there.
  4. Hey, I'm from the South and am as clean as a whistle Maybe it's cause I'm female, then again, go to Meyersdal gym and those woman are scary!!
  5. Typical female problem!!
  6. I really hope so. That's why I said years, it's been there like forever. I've always raced on nothing, I even hate most of the USN products etc and yet I'm sure I'm not alone in how I feel. It was an exciting awesome tour to watch but for me these days it is tainted. I hope above all hopes it is on the road to recovery and I hope that Chris is the start of the new clean generation, will be a good change.
  7. Bwahahahahaha.
  8. I think I've just been hurt one too many times. I know we are supposed to always forgive but it's human nature that once burnt twice shy. I used to get excited when a rider performed well and have support for certain guys whom I loved and would shout for and get excited over. But time and time again each one has now been stripped and shamed. I just don't have the same excitement for the sport anymore purely because of it's long tainted history. The doping has stripped the joy of the sport for me. Which is actually very very sad and I'm sure many feel the same way.
  9. I think you're right.
  10. I believe you took something to ease the pain though? And WADA is so strict it's like you basically have to do it on Panado. I'll be totally honest with you, from history I am in doubts that anyone in the tour is riding clean according to the WADA list. I'd love to believe otherwise but I truly am battling. I believe Chris has absolute pure awesome talent and deserved the win, he rode and acted like a true champion. I believe Quintana is a man to watch next year now that he has learnt from his mistakes. I don't believe any of these guys are bad or want to actually do anything to hurt themselves or others but this sport is in turmoil at present and something has to change before I can honestly see someone do wonders and actually get excited about it all because of tainted history for years and years. I don't think I can support anyone until I see and know there has been a change. Okay, aim, shoot, fire!!
  11. Bwahahahaha, forgotten about that. Man, the headache I had that day...In my defence that was like my first mtb ride ever. At least the sand was soft, could have ended up a lot worse
  12. Where did I label anyone a doper?
  13. I've never said I was perfect, only redeemed. I have lots I'm working on and it's one of the reasons I'm not riding with anyone I used to. Long story and you really wouldn't care.
  14. You make a good point. I personally question others more than Froome. In my opinion how can someone race with a broken bone and survive?
  15. Of course we are supposed to be happy for them.
  16. I prefer pronk. (Not that my opinion means anything but still)
  17. Unfortunately the sport is tainted with doubts and it has become more natural from history to believe anyone showing outstanding performance to not be seen as great these days but to be questioned. Anyone who is doing that is being attacked by you and SwissVan. Why not put away insults and discuss this. Though I don't think any of you will ever come to a conclusion except maybe in 10 years time when one of you are proved wrong. Everyone has a right to their opinion.
  18. Sounds to me like Wyatt is the one with the problem here actually.
  19. The other thing I've learnt is that I need a certain level of technicality because I don't have the power to pull me through as most guys do.
  20. Too true, that's probably why I can't do half the stuff others can, I've made it so far without and do pretty well I think. Some people have lots of time on their hands, bwahahaha. I can climb pavements at least
  21. This makes me want to get it 100% right. I think someone said the right words...it's about believing you can do it. My motto about learning to MTB...first you have to find out what the bike can do, the you find out what you can do...
  22. Also been on Eggbeaters for 4 years and not a single problem. They are awesome in mud, never have to worry about clipping in or out.
  23. Their main focus is still on racing and not their day job. They'll often give that up to race. My father was a springbok gymnast and his boss told him he cannot leave early to go to nationals, you guess what he gave up? And he never earned a cent doing gym, not like the cyclists these days.
  24. My whole point however is the motive behind why they are taking whatever they took....the problem is it's impossible in this world of liars to distinguish the two.
  25. Ouch that hurt me...and I thought I was doing quite well as a mtbiker
