i have the charybis. great tyre for racing XC. not so sure if training wit hit is a good idea. i got a tear in my front tyre. the tyre was still new. So it was R500 a pop!

ya , sell the giant. buy my scott scale frame. built the giant components on it. then you have 2 scott bikes one for fast rides and one for comfortable rides..

i would like to see cat 1 to cat 10, 11, 12, 13, etc because then a non-pro can work him self up to the faster groups. Then the groups will be really strengh vs strengh. you will then not get these guys in A bunch swearing at you for not pulling up front were as you just trying to hold on for dear life.... there always seems to be +-15 riders in the group who are to strong for the rest. (in open seeded cat). if there were 50 guys with similair strengh in the same group well that will be exiting. no age groups! 2c

yip , cross train is better.. cycling, running, swimming, gym, squash, tennis and touch rugby... I wonder why my cycling dont improve....

will also aim for 2:30. they took out the hill at ponte?

the scott spark and merida 96 bikes have very simple and effective designs. my mongoose canaan was beutiful but to much maintenance and sqweeks...!!
