  1. it's on the Racetec site
  2. Stu Berry did a talk for our cycling club and he said last night that it has been moved to the Monday. Just hope everything will be clean after Sunday's ANC event
  3. Booked for cyclocross, looking forward to it. Hope I can beat the bottle necks this time.
  4. IMO R 45.00 is reasonable if you only buy one, but it would be better if the price is reduced if you buy multiple photos. Some of these guys are now charging close on R 60 each for photos regardless of how many you buy.
  5. Thanks, I can see why. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.
  6. Does anyone know how the guy who fell at 14km on the 45 is doing?
  7. As others have said, the CPA covers you, but with the shop and not the manufacturer. I had the free hub body on my Mongoose collapse just before the bike was a month old . You could see that the component was corroded. My LBS sorted it out with the agent without an issue. Think one has to be reasonable on both sides of the argument and a proper investigation on what went wrong.
  8. Closest image I could find the the orange rubber things we put in our bikes as kids. The reason I stopped riding for 15 years. First had the orange rubber "Perma tubes" then the lighter blue foam ones. The foam ones were still heavy. Sorry , wrong topic
  9. Mine are ghetto conversion and I had weird problem where it was leaking out by the valve stem. It ended up being that I had torn the tube with my tyre lever just inside the rim. Redid and made sure the split was outside the rim (hadn't trimmed yet)
  10. Try dunking the tyre in some water and see if and where bubbles are coming out. Turn the wheel so the spot where the bubbles are appearing is at the bottom. Should seal within a few seconds.
  11. I heard that you don't need CSA membership for races under 20km. Doesn't affect me, but might for some people only doing the very short races.
  12. From looking at previous threads all clothing is heavily taxed when imported
  13. Use Discovery Vitality Fit and Endomondo at the same time without a problem. Vitality Fit to get points and Endomondo for stats. Multiple apps can use GPS at the same time and seem to play nice and have not seen any significant change in battery usage. I find switching off packet data once the apps are running and switching back on when I finish my workouts helps a lot with battery usage. My phone now has ANT+ support and I link up my heart rate monitor with that. ANT+ does not play nicely when used with multiple apps simultaneously .
  14. Hot and dry by a small margin. Cool and wet within reason would be preferred. Mud is okay, but sludge is a different story, there to ride, not carry my bike through marshland.
  15. Serviced my Suntour coil fork on Saturday. Did not realise how bad it was. Had grit inside. After the service my bike felt like new.
  16. Kendas the same
  17. Tracked my Amashova ride with my S4 and Endomondo without a problem. I did turn packet data off during the ride which made a big difference.

Was my first race too. Could have done without the head wind for most of the race. Otherwise a good race, tough but good. Happier with the cold than the blistering heat of Friday. Hope your guys experience has not discouraged your wife. Everyone has a bad race at some stage or another.
  19. I use them am quite happy so far. First pair the metal plate inside sheared, but was swapped out without a problem. Have been using them for quite a few races as well as weekend rides and weekday training. Have not had any other cycling shoes, so cannot compare.

  21. The advice I have received from my LBS has been invaluable and I have found them to be cheaper than CRC for all the items I have needed. Unfortunately they have just closed down and now I have to travel 30 km to the nearest decent bike shop. So it looks like I will have to be doing more online shopping. I like CWC and Buycycle, but I find they do not keep much in the way of lower end components and other little bits and pieces.
  22. Thanks guys. Think I will stick with shrader then.
  23. sent you a pm
  24. You riding mountain bike or road bike?
  25. Been told that presta holds pressure and bit better. Have also had one or 2 shrader valves gummed up with slime.
