  2. I went to one of the provincial races at the local BMX track last year. I was shocked at all the old ballies racing. Oh, and I was shocked at the carbon rims on BMX's. Times have changed.
  3. Border Collies are insanely intelligent. You can train this behaviour without violence in a couple of days. I'f you're not sure, there's plenty of videos, or let me know, the head of Border Collie Rescue lives in Atlasville, I'll PM you her details and she'll gladly help you. Don't put a shock collar on that dog, you'll break it's spirit. Edit: I've worked with several dogs from BCR over the last decade or more, and our current model we got from them just over a year ago.
  4. I think you should get DR's opinion.
  5. I prefer "not all those who are lost wonder".
  6. Adidas used to make really good cycling kit. One of the best pairs of cycling shoes I ever used were Adidas ones. They made/make decent casual clothes? It would be good to see them make a return, and maybe easier for a company that makes casual wear like a Nike to make cycling kit?
  7. I spent December training with one of their Pro Continental Team riders. I'm a long way off World Tour pace
  8. I use Rudy Project Rydons with the prescription insert when I'm not wearing contact lenses.
  9. Google translate. Click the link and read the original dutch.
  10. Marc Hirschi is coming out for UAE Emirates this cycling season. This Wieler Flash understood from sources close to the team. The first contacts have been made through the Swiss connection with team manager Mauro Gianetti. In recent weeks, a transition from Team DSM has become negotiable and UAE Emirates has acted very quickly. Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar's team had hardly attracted any reinforcements for 2021 so far. Only Rafal Majka and Matteo Trentin are new big names. Financially, the team from the United Arab Emirates is in a strong position. Hirschi's salary requirements were therefore no problem. The connection between the three Swiss Marc Hirschi, his agent Fabian Cancellara and UAE Emirates team boss Mauro Gianetti played an important role in the negotiations. https://www.wielerflits.nl/nieuws/marc-hirschi-kiest-voor-uae-emirates/

Such negativity. I was simply asking what the thinking is regarding riding when everyone is back at work. Nowhere did I suggest breaking the law or anything. What the twatwaffle about taking risks and falling and crap is about is beyond me.

Huh? You're allowed to ride on the road.

I can't find a thread about it anywhere, and I'm not sure if this is the correct area to post this. When is everyone riding now, and when are you all going to ride when you're all back at work? This 6 am BS has thrown a real pump in the spokes as it were. I ask as this came up during our coffee stop today as most are going to be back at work from Monday. Are people going to simply break curfew and ride earlier (and then bitch and moan when plod makes an example of a group out riding at 5am)? Going back to indoor training? After work?
  14. You do get that your point of view is just as exclusionary? Or maybe it's just the way you put it across? Some people get enjoyment out of the technical details and things. You can't in a sense diminish them for that? Your way of enjoying the sport doesn't mean that someone else's way is not allowed. BTW, I must be terrible at whatever snobbery you are accusing me of when I have no clue about half the cycling related things you mention here.
  15. Shame. It's also sometimes important to all speak the same language. Not as in English or Afrikaans or whatever, but the same technical language, or even jargon if you will, so we can have a common understanding. By common I mean similar, nor base.
  16. If someone does that, you stick your pump in his spokes.
  17. Cause cycling nomenclature is insane.
  18. In the days of quill stems, I heard many guys call them goose necks. Oh, and it's a saddle, not a seat.
  19. The correct spelling is Aurgust.
  20. Either way, it drives me mad when the muppets refer to tyre threads as opposed to treads
  21. I see the muppets in the classifieds here have all settled on Square Tapped instead of square tapered. In fact a search in the Drivetrain section reveals not a single square taper BB for sale. Many tapped ones though.

What happened to that Ride magazine? Is that still a thing?
  23. https://www.todaysmotorvehicles.com/article/honda-gm-partnership/ In some vehicle segments, the automakers will share platforms – the underlying architecture that can underpin both a Honda Accord sedan and a CR-V crossover – for EVs and traditional gasoline-powered cars and trucks. Co-development talks have already begun with engineering sharing set to start early next year.
  24. The mighty Prince engine. I have it in my Peugeot. Developed by Peugeot used in many BMW's. 200hp of go fast.
