I'm seriously impressed with those two efforts inside the 5km radius. I'm sure there are more. Personally I don't give a rat's arse. I try and stick to the time limit, but like yesterday I got home at about 9:15. I don't stick to any ring of death though. Today I did 55-ish kms, was about 25km from my house at the furthest point. I see plenty of saps on my ride though and they always wave and greet. Even the ones I saw the other day out at Bapsfontein 4-Way pulling taxi's over to check permits. Personally I feel like the plonkers riding in groups (most of the idjits I see close to home - I think part of the problem is I live too close to the Riverfields MTB park) and the retards riding against the traffic flow are going to give me the virus or get me killed far quicker than riding further from home.

I asked before who here sticks to that. Resounding silence. All model citizens here.

Probably derailing the thread, but the biggest difference (specifically for the GT's) will be between the guys that could train outdoors vs those that couldn't (or wouldn't in the case of some Italian pros). I think you could fake your way through a single day like that Hayman bloke did at Roubaix, but you wouldn't be prepared for 2-3 weeks of day in day out time in the saddle that a GT requires. (Fake in inverted commas. I don't mean any old bloke could sit on his trainer and win a classic, but I mean you can be prepared for a one off hard day with indoor training bookending a solid road preparation. Remember, a lot of the GT riders were only just starting to get their program underway before being forced off the roads, and you need a solid base that indoor training can only sharpen.)

There's a MTB park 2kms from my house. Every morning when I ride past on the road, I am slightly amazed at how many people have loaded their bikes on cars and driven there to ride. I see plenty of them making their way home in their doublecaps later in the day when I'm riding home as well.

Sounds fair. I know where my tackle has been, I dunno who's touched the door handle to the men's room.

Only wash my hands when I piss on them. And I only do that once, maybe twice a month.

I vaguely remember Oom Hendrik's barbie fake account, and of course MTBarbie who was an actual person in real life as well.

Not for nothing, but why would you want to even if it was legally allowed. The fact that this coronachan kills is a real fact. Even if it doesn't do you or your visitor in, what about infecting your parents, or their parents, or any number of other people in the high risk of severe illness categories?
