  1. This is heart breaking for SA cycling.
  2. Eff me! What an effing wanker...
  3. This logic is flawless, beer or sealant, no brainer.
  4. Real men ride off road anyway.
  5. Unless its the crack of a 9 out of 10....
  6. I find bibs stay in place better than plain rods, nobody likes to see a plumbers crack when your shorts start slipping down
  7. Besides, beating a roadie kitted in all the gear and a fancy Italian bike on your dirty knobblie shod MTB is also a good way to start your Sunday....
  8. Someone must do that to my wife and I guarantee you, you will never ride a bike again....
  9. We did that bit, was good fun also. Mike's pass was a bliksem!
  10. Day 1 of the 2 day event was simply the best riding I have ever done, the descent from Spioenkop was insane, absoluteley incredible. Got 3/4 up Mike pass yesterday, but to be perfectly honest day 2 was great, but not the best route ever, I think day 1 was so awesome that it would be impossible to compare.
  11. Spose you have a point...
  12. windgat joller = arrogant party animal
  13. My life story: When I left school, I never studied and was a bit of a windgat joller, my folks told me to get a job and grow up, so my dad offered that I do an aprrenticeship in the factory, where he was a partner (Shopfitting) I hit the bench and started to lear how to become a carpenter, did all the k@k jobs as I said previously. Did that for 2 years, got promoted into the drawing office, another 2 years later I was promoted to Store Deisgn Consultant, 4 years later I was head hunted by one of the biggest retailers in SA at the time (With my dad and his partners blessing). I have now been with said retailer for 8 years, now the biggest company in the world! I use my skills everyday, appreciate the value of hard work, and the technical skills learnt taught me to be able to solve big world problems, I am happy where I work and they look after me very well. So roll up your sleevs do some hard work and the rest will follow. Paying for your own studies whilst being an appie is the way it works in the real world, nothing un-toward here, if you not adding value, go away. This thread is about an oportunity for youngsters to potentially become something in their lives.
  14. Holla has in excess of 300km of marked trail, ranging from entry level to serious. www.hollatrails.co.za
  15. Yup, and summer months the flys are a bit of a pain especialliy when the cane fields have been fertilised with chicken ****, cruising along at speed is ok, but climbing is another story I have inhalled plenty flys and bugs.
  16. Having done an apprenticeship (carpenter) the request is reasonable. Started my life as a carpenter appie, having to sweep floors, sharpen my journey mans chisels, clean his tools, make him coffee, warm up his lunch etc. etc. and get a proper PK if I chocked the hammer, or hit a nail with a chisel
  17. Pics?
  18. Just let me know who you are, dont want to be behind you in case you start "backfiring"
  19. What were the goody bags like?
  20. The Sports Minister joining in for the ride was a nice touch, earned him respect in my books.
  21. What a fat jol, worth the drive from Durban, never had so much fun on a bike ever, got totally hammered on route, and my chicken suit was probably not the greatest riding attire choice... The real heros for me was Think Bike, these guys took their Friday off to escort a bunch of cyclists through jozi, and did an awesome job, thank you Think Bike, what an incredible bunch of people. You Rock!
  22. Your point is valid and support any debate to keep us safer on the roads, and if this is the vehicle, then sobeit.
  23. May I suggest another thread for the GA/PPA/Safety debate, someone died here, keep the thread for condolonces and respect....
  24. Here in Natal, you cannot buy a Spez from anyone exept from the Stander's, led by the old man Charles, they have a pokey little store in Shelly Beach (The Manager of this store is a very lekker guy and was very helpfull) a nice store in Waterfall, and end of November they are opening the first fully fledged Spez concept store in Ballito, to the exact same spec as the European stores. Rumour has it that the Standers were forced by Spez to open the R4mil store, or face the local exclusive agency being revoked and the brand sold to any LBS, this is a pity cos the attitude of the Stander family WRT to Spez sales leaves nothing to be desired. A take it or eff off attitude. Spez fans in Ballito: Get the lube boys and prepare for a proper DBF!
  25. All the others plus: Pedal wrenches, long nose pliers, quick link tool, gear outher cable cutters, stanley knife, torque wrench, small hammer, tape measure and of course, spares. The most important tool in my entire garage is my bar fridge.
