  1. There was not much to start with.
  2. Just had the report on my whhel, totally effed, some pics for the manne: I counted over 12 dents in the rim, i am showing only the highlights, the innards of the hub are too scary to show. Check how buckled the wheel is in pic 4!
  3. That may be a tough one, what if you have Zackly disease? Face look Zackly like your ring.
  4. Never leave home without it! A word of advice, dont apply to vigorously, you finger may slip, you could then possibly breach the nought, a surprise of note, so a friend told me
  5. Need to change your avatar to Momsen, lekker new bike!
  6. Came up from Ballito for the race, entered the 45, at 20 Kay's ot the top of the climb, I stripped my rear hub, no problem, I free wheeled down the other side and cut my tyre properly, thought stuff it, I'm going to continue going down with a flat rear wheel, proceeded to totally wreck my rim, and was drifting through the corners on a total stuffed Kenda Karma and a rim that looked like a template for Simba crinkle cut chips, was fun, hiked 5 Kay's until I got a lift back to ATKV, and met some lads and had a few. Great race, relaxed vibe and a proper mountain bike course, with great organisation, the lads and hubbers I met after the ride in the beer tent looked stukkend! I have unfinished business with the Monster, I'll be there for the 75 Kay next year, with new wheels! Left the beer tent and was handed a Jaeger from jcza, love your work!
  7. Entered the 45km for Sat, gonna k@k bricks, looking forward to the ride, but am excited to have a few knertsies, with the lads after the race, we must to a hub meet and drink.
  8. What a gesture! Thank you.
  9. I've just came off a ride at Holla, and found myself thinking of him constantly.
  10. From the link posted previously, pictures unable to copy and paste via the iPad. Burry Stander was a world-class cyclist. Pic by ...show more The taxi driver has not been arrested. 03 January 2013 | David Rush UPDATE: Friday, January 4, 9.30am It has been confirmed that the driver of the taxi was in fact not arrested and charged. He was, however, taken to the police station and a warning docket was taken.A case of culpable homicide will be investigated and the man is not in police custody. The docket will be referred to the senior public prosecutor for a decision. This is the taxi involved in the accident. >> WORLD famous cyclist Burry Stander (25) of Umtentweni was killed in an accident while cycling in Shelly Beach this afternoon. Details are still to be confirmed via an official police report but it appears Stander was on his way back to Umtentweni after a training ride when the tragedy occurred. At Stott Street, near Doo Twah chalets, he collided with a taxi, which was heading south and had turned right off the main South Coast road. Stander crashed into the passenger side of the taxi and died at the scene, his bike in pieces. A sad testament to a man who died doing what he loved. Tributes and messages of condolence have been posted on Facebook as friends and fans pour out their grief at the untimely death of this hugely popular man. Stander was one of South Africa's most exciting cycling prospects and immensely respected around the world. He recently raced to fifth place in the cross-country mountain biking discipline at last year's London Olympics. He held the lead for a section of the race. It is believed the driver of the taxi has been arrested.
  11. The frame hanging on the wall in the pic, is the Frame, helmet and shoes Burry wore at the London Olympics, can't rotate the pic, so it should actually be top left and not bottom left as in the pic. How screwed up is this whole thing?
  12. Went past the shop and dropped some flowers at the door, there was already a bunch there, and the S Works Epic in the window had about six bunches on it, saw a few other guys walking in with flowers also, shop will be closed until further notice. As I put the flowers on the floor my 6 year old son says: " I'm so sorry for Burry, now we don't have the bestest rider anymore, how fair?"
  13. I am going to pop past Concept Cyclery in Ballito a bit later and drop off some flowers for the team there, doubt they will be open so I will leave them at the door. This is a great advert for young aspiring stars, have a look at all the messages from the pros on social media and the comments left here, this is how you should carry yourself in the eyes of the fans, be humble and stay real, this is how his memory should be remembered a good clean living honest young man and a true champ at the same time, I hope all other professional sportsman take note!
  14. A great tribute pic posted on GT's Facebook page, Burry's bike sponsor when he broke onto the scene, he rode a Zaskar at the Beijing Olympics when he was 20 years old. You will be missed.
  15. At the opening of his store in store in Ballito, I was perving over an SWorks with a mate, he walked up to me, put his hand and said, Hi, I'm Burry nice to meet you, spoke for about 10 minutes and I thought to my self wow! If I was as awesome as he was, I hope I could still be so real. This tragic loss is cutting deep.
  16. This is unbelievable, RIP Burry! My heart bleeds for Cherise and his family

    Cricket......

Agree, Clarke, if he has as long a carreer as Kallis and the rest, is probably the only current player that could possibly challenge the top 3.

    Cricket......

Kali's, average is the best in the top 10, he reached 13000 runs quicker than Tendulker, and has a few 100 test wickets, so the records show, Kallis is one of the best, if not the best cricketer to ever play the game!

    Cricket......

One of the funniest moments in cricket involved Symo, he was bolting around the boundry to stop a four and a security guards dog mocked charged him, he kaked himself and the ball went for a four.
  21. In my humble opinion, the problem is quite clear, it's a road bike.
  22. This thread has officially become what it was intended to be, awesome. Good come back guys, welcome back.
  23. I have missed your workshop tales JB.
  24. I upgraded my XT cranks to XTR cranks and the difference is huge, nothing to do with performance though, the feeling of awesomeness was the reason I upgraded, like the okes say, XT is pound for pound the best value money can buy. My purchase of the XTR cranks was based on pure emotion and disregard for the cost of blades which will not last as long as my XT cranks. All that been said, no regrets, go with your heart not your head I say.
  25. This may be due to shorter crank arms, but most likely the result of different bike geometry, often 29ers have lower BB heights to try and reduce the stand over height of the bike.
