  1. Let's keep the thread going until MR Swen shares his side of the story. edit : or you have all your money
  2. Ask him if he can send you a program and then you pay him, if he asks why tell him he doesn't have a very good reputation on the hub. So it is a safety measure so that you don't loose money. Then when you receive the program if he sends it refuse to pay
  3. If there is somebody who can do it better Spinnekop it must be you.
  4. I almost made use of him a month ago, but he was to expensive. And now I am glad I didn't . It would have been best for him to just state his side but now it is waaaayyyyy to late...
  5. They all use Strava and that is the problem everybody wants the KOM and now nobody has it. Maybe I should create a universal account for all of us and then we do it , then everybody has the KOM
  6. hehehe this is my valley , the climbs are though but don't expect a KOM easily
  7. Yeah but you better make it count , otherwise it is not a good prezzie
  8. Rose and love day is a must!! Also do Premier street close to pcc. and then there is this baby; https://www.strava.com/segments/6097760 does'nt look that steep but ride it and you'll see
  9. I wanted to do this a while ago on Klapperkop with my cycling buddies. But they don't want to be my domestiques.
  10. Out of all of the above it seems that I was the wrong one in this instance. rule #1 Never expect something free rule#2 Always ask upfront what it will cost rule #3 Rather buy the stuff and do it yourself Thanks for your input guys Lesson learnt
  11. I understand why you say what you say, they provide a service , I need a service I pay them for what they gave me. But sometimes a small favor goes a long way
  12. I am a scholar , I don't have 50 bucks I have a lot of time. well 50bucks for the lesson is worth it. and the lesson is choose your bike shops carefully or do it yourself.(if you have the tools)
  13. I'm a scholar and I study. small stuff like that goes a long way in ensuring long term customers. Maybe he removes a lockring for me today and tomorrow I'll come buy a chain whip and lockring remover . Anyway I will never go there again not even to buy a co2 bomb
  14. Glad I found this thread, last week I wanted to replace my junior cassette with a nornal one because road season is over and the trainer doesn't provide enough resistance with a junior drive terrain . So I rode my road bike and my 26er wheel to Road cycles in Silverton just that the guy can remove the lockring on the 26er so that I can remove the cassette and sell it and remove the lockring on my roadbike so that I can replace a the 2 smallest ones with 2 others. I even took a plastic bag with me for the 26er cassette. when I got there "the mechanic" wasn't there . so I waited for him to come he removed the lockrings i rplaced the 2 sprockets and he re tightened them then he charged me 50bucks. there was no customers in the shop at the time and it took 1min. do you guys think it is fair?
  15. Entered the 40km, The 40km race is gonna be fast!
  16. there wont be an adhesion problem as far as I know, the metal conducts electricity so the plating will work quite well. the Copper will oxidize over time and become a greenish blue but other that that i think it will look quite cool. just note the frame won't be a shiny brown colour unless you polish it with a very fine metal polish. Plated copper is a very dark non shiny brown.
  17. To me it looks good. Just remember to do a variety of intervals not only long ones but make sure that you cover the whole spectrum. I normally don't train longer Than 1h but I make the short sessions count and in last years 94 I ate the people on the last few climbs. Keep doing those intense hour sessions in the week with the odd long ride or two on weekends.
  18. there is a Momsen Al529 in classifieds for 11k buy it and spend R5000 on upgrades. you won't regret it!
  19. 1. Went from flat pedals to clipless pedals. 2.Started to ride further and more often. 3.Started racing a lot more. 4.Downloaded Strava and used segments as intervals. 5.Did a lot of HIIT training. 6.Got an indoor trainer 7.Got a better bike 8.Got a HRM and hopefully I can get a power meter in no.9 My first race was 94.7 MTB 30km did it in 2 hours 2012 to a 2;42 on the 94.7 Cycle Challenge last year 2014
  20. Go watch stage 14 of 2002 TDF.(Mont Ventoux) The guy who won was suffering like hell while Armstrong just kept lifting the pace. It looked like Lance rode a flat piece of road because he didn't suffer at all (it didn't look like that). when the rest of the field suffers and a guy looks normal I start suspecting...
  21. Exactly , just going to pop my race face Nw chainring from my Cannondale onto the GT and buy a new Kalbo one for the Cannondale .
  22. Sell your Front Derailleur and shifters with chainrings and buy a Kalbo NW chainring R450 +spacers R69
