I have a Merida front wheel you can have if you don't get yours back. It is off my wife's bike. It needs a tyre and a rotor. Yours if you need it.

Which wheels did you eventually choose?

I bought some new hoops. Mavic Cosmic Elites. Light as a feather and they spin forever. I can't wait to ride on them this weekend.

I haven't read all the replies so please excuse me if this is a repeat. I had the same problem with the Garmin 500. I eventually figured out it was the zipper from my jersey rubbing on the unit that caused the problem. Some zips cause the problem and others don't. I eventually just rode in my jerseys that didn't cause the interference. I now have the 510 and don't have the problem anymore. Wetting the strap well did improve the problem as well.

This is always one of the best races of the year. I had a good ride despite two crashes on the slick surface. The grip levels could only be described as like trying to ride on frozen bars of soap... My front tyre was slightly over inflated which probably contributed to the crashing. Anyway finished 18th in the 75km with a time of 3:38

HaHa. This was my probably around my 100th cycle race and I still haven't learnt that when someone says it's the last climb, it definitely isn't the last climb... And when someone says it's 10ks to go, there definitely isn't 10ks to go...

Did you contact Garmin directly? I thought they have always been able to replace screens etc.

Maybe the manufactures want you to buy a new bike rather than second hand. Having a warranties might sway people to buy new rather than used. That could be the reason behind the warranties not transferring.

Sorry I should have been more specific. http://cyclelab.com/accessories/bike-essentials/tyres-and-tubes-en/vredestein-black-panther-29-mtb-tyre.html these ones. The "standard" ones not Xtrac or Extreme. The standard ones have far less rolling resistance. I pay around R550.00 each at my LBS.

@ IH8MUD get your buddy to try the Vredestein black panthers. I had a similar problem with the GEAX Saguaro. I punctured and destroyed 5 tyres in the space of three months on my back wheel. I am 76kg 183cm and ride a hard tail. I moved to the Vredesteins and have really enjoyed them.

I thought it was great, a hundred times better than the old route. Awesome scenery, great climbs and on good roads. Also there were hardly any cars once you were off the N2.

I don't seem to be in the results. Very annoying. I did 3h30 in the 80km should be around 16th. Looking forward to the road ride tomorrow. I hope it is not so cold.

It think it works like this AA- for the 100km road BA - for the 50km road CA- for the 80km MTB DA- for the 50km MTB and so on.. Good luck for that training session. Better throw some intervals in for good measure.

It is the first seeded group. It starts with elites then tandems and then AA.
